Slowking (Japanese: ヤドキング Yadoking) is a major supporting character who appeared in The Power of One.

In the movies

The Shellder bitten on Slowking's head

Slowking first appeared in The Power of One, narrating the Shamouti Prophecy. He was seen observing the bad weather occurring after Moltres's capture. Following Zapdos's capture, Slowking witnessed Articuno freezing an island.

When Ash, his friends, Team Rocket, and Melody arrived to the Shamouti Shrine, they met Slowking who told Ash where to put the spheres he found. As Ash only found the Fire and Thunder Spheres, Slowking pointed out that he was one short. Slowking saw the fighting between Lugia and the legendary birds. While Ash went ahead to get the Ice Sphere, Slowking stayed behind with Misty, Tracey, and Melody.

After Ash returned with the final sphere, Slowking witnessed Melody revive Lugia and undo the damage done on the island. When Team Rocket survived their fall, Slowking praised them for saving the world and their heroic actions did not go unnoticed.

Slowking appeared again in Slowking's Day, which showed what he does on a daily basis. It was revealed that his interests include coconuts, taking walks, flowers, afternoon naps, the ocean, friends, and the sunset.

Slowking also made a cameo appearance in I Choose You!, which is set in a timeline separate from the main series. It was seen still residing at the Shamouti Shrine.

Personality and characteristics

This talking Slowking lives on Shamouti Island, and is the guardian of the shrine located on the island. He gave Ash advice on where to find the Ice, Thunder, and Fire Spheres that were needed to calm down the fighting legendary birds. He later praised the Team Rocket trio, upset that no-one saw them being heroes, telling them that their heroic actions did not go unnoticed.
