Pikachu Around the World (Japanese: ワールドピカチュウ World Pikachu) is a collection of merchandise released in Japan on August 6, 2016[1] and in the United States on January 5, 2017 exclusively through the Japanese Pokémon Centers and the U.S. Pokémon Center Online, respectively. The collection features Pikachu wearing costumes representing different countries around the world. Various other Pokémon are incorporated into each design. In Japan, the merchandise includes Poké Plush plush toys, mascots (plush keychains), hand towels, mugs, and stickers. In the U.S., the merchandise just includes the Poké Plush.
Male and female Pikachu are dressed in costumes representing America, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, China, and Japan.
Representing America, a female Pikachu is dressed as the Statue of Liberty, with a Litwick-shaped torch and Unown inscribed on the tabula ansata.
Representing the UK, a male Pikachu is dressed as a soldier from the Queen's Guard, with a Poké Ball belt buckle and Shield Forme Aegislash epaulettes.
Representing the Netherlands, a female Pikachu is dressed in traditional clothing, with clogs painted like Skiploom.
Representing China, a male Pikachu is dressed in a traditional satiny tang suit in a kung fu pose, with a Poké Ball hat decoration and a Mienfoo face on the back on the suit.
Representing Japan, a male Pikachu is dressed as a Kabuki actor, with two Sunshine Form Cherrim on the front of the costume and a Tangela on the back.
