Mannes (Japanese: モーモント Momont) is a major character who appeared in White—Victini and Zekrom and Black—Victini and Reshiram. He is the mayor of Eindoak Town and a descendant of the People of the Vale. Mannes also owns and operates a farm estate in town.

In the movies

Mannes first appeared during the Eindoak Harvest Festival battle tournament, announcing the tournament's rules and officially kicking off the tournament with a speech and musical performance thanks to his Pokémon-operated instrument.

Later, he revealed that he is a descendant of the People of the Vale, and taught Ash, Iris, and Cilan the history of Eindoak Town, and the history of the Kingdom of the Vale and how it all connects to Victini. Ash and his friends enjoy their time on Mannes' farm estate, where they watch Victini and their Pokémon play with the other wild Pokémon. He, along with the other descendants, agreed to allow Damon to move the Sword of the Vale in the hope of restoring the ancient kingdom to its former glory. Mannes had been supporting Damon's efforts in locating the other descendants from other parts of the world, and was a big advocate of the plan.

Once the Sword began its journey, Mannes followed after it in his Klinklang-powered helicopter and realized the Dragon Force has been disturbed and was destroying the landscape. He goes to the Sword of the Vale as it's flying through the sky and informs everyone of the turn of events and then helps Juanita, Carlita, Cilan, and Iris evacuate the castle and tries to stop Damon after realizing the unintended and destructive consequences of the plan to resurrect the ancient kingdom.

After the Sword of the Vale was relocated, Mannes helped the other descendants in rebuilding and replenishing the Kingdom of the Vale and landscape.

Character

Mannes is a jovial and light-hearted individual that can easily bring people together. He enjoys the responsibility of his role as mayor and is well-versed in the history of his ancestors, the People of the Vale.
