Leaf Guard (Japanese: リーフガード Leaf Guard) is an Ability introduced in Generation IV. Fourteen Pokémon can have this Ability, all of which are Grass types.

Effect

In battle

Generation IV

Leaf Guard prevents the Pokémon from being afflicted by non-volatile status conditions during intense sunlight. It does not prevent self-inflicted status conditions, such as from Rest.

Generation V

Leaf Guard now prevents the use of Rest.

Outside of battle

Leaf Guard has no effect outside of battle.
