With the release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl and the beginning of Generation IV, the PCG Era switched over to the DP Era. The DP Era merchandise contains all the TCG products released from October 2006 until August 2008 when the card transitioned into the DPt Era. Below is a chronological list of the products considered part of the DP Era.

Entry Pack

The Entry Pack (Japanese: エントリーパック) marked the start of the DP era with its release on October 27, 2006. This kit contains three half decks that showcase cards included in the upcoming Space-Time Creation expansion, each of which focus on the Generation IV first partner Pokémon and their evolutions: Torterra, Infernape, and Empoleon. The kit is designed to introduce beginners to the game and includes a how-to-play manual and practice play mat, as well as including damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

Random Construction Starter Deck

The Random Construction Starter Deck (Japanese: ランダム構築スターター スタンダードデッキ) was released alongside the Space-Time Creation expansion on November 30, 2006, though visitors to the Diamond•Pearl Battle Festa★2006 could purchase the deck from as early as November 25, 2006. Like several previous items released at the start of a TCG era, the deck contains a random assortment of cards from either the Entry Pack or Space-Time Creation expansion. These are divided into four blocks: 15 random cards (including Pokémon LV.X), 15 random Basic Pokémon cards, 15 random Trainer cards, and 15 random Energy cards. The deck also comes with a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

10th Movie Commemoration Set

The 10th Movie Commemoration Set (Japanese: 映画10周年記念 プレミアムシート) is a special 11-card collection made available to commemorate the release of the 10th Pokémon movie The Rise of Darkrai. All of the cards focus on a particular Pokémon that has had a significant role in one of the previous nine Pokémon movies. The set includes a space for a promotional card made available to the first 4,200,000 patrons of the 10th movie. The set was given a prerelease at World Hobby Fair venues, available to purchase from as early as January 14, 2007. It was subsequently made available on July 14, 2007 in cinemas screening the 10th movie and at Pokémon Centers, followed by a general release on August 3, 2007.

Bastiodon the Defender

Bastiodon the Defender (Japanese: 構築ハーフデッキ 守りのトリデプス) was one of two half decks released alongside the Secret of the Lakes expansion on March 2, 2007. The half deck focuses chiefly on   and   Pokémon, including the entire evolutionary line of Magmar and Shieldon, with Bastiodon as the central Pokémon. All of the cards are the same as their Secret of the Lakes counterparts, but feature exclusive artwork. The half deck also includes a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

Rampardos the Attacker

The other half deck to accompany the Secret of the Lakes expansion was Rampardos the Attacker (Japanese: 構築ハーフデッキ 攻めのラムパルド). This half deck primarily focuses on   and   Pokémon, including Pikachu's and Cranidos' evolutionary lines, with Rampardos as the central Pokémon. Like Bastiodon the Defender, all of the cards are the same as their Secret of the Lakes counterparts, but feature exclusive artwork. The half deck comes with a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

Dialga LV.X Constructed Standard Deck

The Dialga LV.X Constructed Standard Deck (Japanese: 構築スタンダードデッキ ディアルガLV.X) was released in conjunction with the Shining Darkness expansion on July 5, 2007, and features the Legendary Temporal Pokémon Dialga as a Pokémon LV.X card. The mixture of  ,  ,  , and   Pokémon included in the deck are all identical play-wise to their Shining Darkness counterparts, but differ by featuring exclusive artwork. The deck comes with a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

Featuring the Legendary Spatial Pokémon Palkia as a Pokémon LV.X card, the Palkia LV.X Constructed Standard Deck (Japanese: 構築スタンダードデッキ パルキアLV.X) was the second of two decks released alongside the Shining Darkness expansion on July 5, 2007. The types of Pokémon in the deck include primarily  ,  , and  . All all identical play-wise to their Shining Darkness counterparts, but differ by featuring exclusive artwork. The deck also includes a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

Magmortar vs Electivire Deck Kit

The Magmortar vs Electivire Deck Kit (Japanese: 対戦スターターパック ブーバーンVSエレキブル) was released on October 26, 2007, the same day as both Moonlit Pursuit and Dawn Dash. The kit contains two half decks: one focusing on the Pokémon Magmortar, the other focusing on the Pokémon Electivire. The Magmortar half deck includes Fire and Water-types, while the Electivire half deck includes Grass and Lightning-types. Both also include an array of Colorless-type Pokémon. The kit also comes with a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

Entry Pack '08

Similarly to the original Entry Pack, the Entry Pack '08 (Japanese: エントリーパック'08), released on November 30, 2007, serves as an introductory product looking forward to 2008. The kit includes everything required for immediate play: three half decks, a how-to-play guide, a practice play mat, a set of damage and status counters, plus a coin. Like the original Entry Pack, the half decks focus on the final evolutions of the Generation IV first partner Pokémon: Torterra, Infernape, and Empoleon; however, all include new and exclusive cards.

Entry Pack '08 DX

A deluxe version of the Entry Pack was made available on the same day. The Entry Pack '08 DX (Japanese: エントリーパック'08 DX) includes everything that can be found in the regular version with the exception of the how-to-play guide, which is replaced with a more detailed manual, and acrylic damage counters, which replace the regular card ones. The DX version includes an additional half deck featuring the Mouse Pokémon Raichu, a sticker sheet, and a damage counter case. The DX version also comes in a trunk case.

Secret of the Lakes Special Pack

The Secret of the Lakes Special Pack (Japanese: 湖の秘密 スペシャルパック) was one of two Blister Packs to be released on January 1, 2008. Like the Blister packs sold outside of Japan, the Special Packs serve as a means to distribute promotional cards and multiple booster packs. This Special Pack includes two Space-Time Creation booster packs, one Secret of the Lakes booster pack, and two DP-P Promotional cards.

Heatran vs Regigigas Deck Kit

The Heatran vs Regigigas Deck Kit (Japanese: 対戦スターターパック ヒードランVSレジギガス) was released alongside Cry from the Mysterious and Temple of Anger on March 14, 2008. The two half decks included in the kit center on the Lava Dome Pokémon Heatran and the Colossal Pokémon Regigigas. The Heatran half deck includes a selection of Fighting and Metal-type Pokémon, while the Regigigas half deck includes Lightning and Psychic-type Pokémon. Gliscor and Mewtwo are featured as Pokémon LV.X cards. The kit also comes with a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin.

Giratina vs Dialga Deck Kit

For the third expansion in a row, a deck kit featuring two Pokémon was released alongside. The Giratina vs Dialga Deck Kit (Japanese: 対戦スターターパック ギラティナVSディアルガ) was made available on July 10, 2008 and features the Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Giratina, both of which have prominent roles in the upcoming Giratina and the Sky Warrior. The Giratina half deck includes primarily Grass and Psychic-type Pokémon, while the Dialga half deck includes primarily Lightning and Metal-type Pokémon. The kit also comes with a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, and a coin. The coin depicts the Gratitude Pokémon Shaymin, featured both in the 11th movie and accompanying Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky expansion.

The first was the Moonlit Pursuit•Dawn Dash Special Pack (Japanese: 月光の追跡•夜明けの疾走 スペシャルパック), which includes two DP-P Promotional cards, one Moonlit Pursuit booster pack, one Dawn Dash booster pack, and one Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky booster pack.

The second Special Pack made available on July 10, 2008 was the Cry from the Mysterious•Temple of Anger Special Pack (Japanese: 秘境の叫び•怒りの神殿 スペシャルパック). This pack comes packaged with one Cry from the Mysterious booster pack, one Temple of Anger booster pack, one Intense Fight in the Destroyed Sky booster pack, plus two DP-P Promotional cards.

11th Movie Commemoration Set

The 11th Movie Commemoration Set (Japanese: 映画公開記念 プレミアムシート2008) was the last DP era item of merchandise. It was released first in Pokémon Centers and participating cinemas showing Giratina and the Sky Warrior on July 19, 2008, with the commercial release later on August 1, 2008. This collection includes nine Cosmos Holofoil Pokémon cards, all of which have roles in the movie, including the unique Icy Sky's Shaymin and Reverse World's Giratina.
