Release information

This card was first printed in the English Boundaries Crossed expansion, originating from the Japanese Freeze Bolt expansion, with artwork by hatachu. It was reprinted in the English Plasma Storm expansion with different artwork by Ayaka Yoshida as an Ultra-Rare Secret card, originating from the Japanese Plasma Gale expansion. It was reprinted again with different artwork by TOKIYA in the English Legendary Treasures expansion, first originating from the Japanese EX Battle Boost.

A Cosmos Holofoil version of the Boundaries Crossed print was included in XY Two Pack Blisters, released on February 5, 2014, and the XY Kanto Two Pack Blisters, released in May 2015. A Cosmos Holofoil version of the Legendary Treasures print was included in the Mega Charizard Collection and the Mega Charizard Box released in August 2014.

  • This card's Plasma Storm print erroneously has       for the Energy cost of the Scorching Fire attack instead of the correct      . This card later received an erratum to correct it.
  • This card's Legendary Treasures print is used as an example in the eighth of Pokémon Art Academy's Eight Rules of Drawing Pokémon.
