Welcome to Bulbapedia, Zedadex!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Take a look at our FAQ. If you're still stuck, ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Talk Page Comments

Removing talk page comments, including the initial welcome template, is prohibited per Bulbapedia's talk page policy. Please do not remove any comments in the future. If you wish to clean old comments away, you should archive your talk page instead. Thank you! -- ✔Poké.geek✔ 21:27, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Wonderful. So how exactly do I create a page? The reason I created an account was to add some details about NPCs that heal your party, as it seems like Bulbapedia doesn't have any info regarding this at all. Zedadex 21:38, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
I must say, the idea of having no control over one's own talk page/having others "edit" it to add their own comments seems a bit weird. Whatever, I don't really care about having a page on here, I just want to be able to edit. Zedadex 21:38, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
The talk page is not really yours. It's a way of contact and record for other users and staff members to refer to in case of it being needed for an issue in the future. Your page is your actual "User page" which cannot be created until you are autocomfirmed (And before you ask the amount of time is not specifed). To create a page all you have to do is type in an article title you want to create in the search bar and click go. If it's not a page there will be a red link at the top of the results saying "Create (Insert page title here) now!" and you will be taken to a blank page where you can create the page by adding content. Unless a page is Protected from creation you should be able to create it. Remember to sign your comments with four of these as well: ~~~~. --Pokemaster97 21:44, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
Ah, yeah, after reading this it made a bit more sense. So talk pages are for wiki related messages, and the "user" page is the user's sandbox. Mmkay.
Oddly enough, I cannot see the "Create (Insert page title here) now!" link... possibly because I'm a newly created user? From a spam viewpoint that would make a lot of sense, however it is also possible that I just missed it, I'll try again. Ah right, the damn tildes, I always forget things like that XD Zedadex 21:51, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
One more thing, please use the preview button before saving the page. It's right next to the Save Changes button... Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. -- ✔Poké.geek✔ 21:55, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
Oh, didn't realize comments go in the recent edits stream, I'll do that. Anyways, I just tried to add the page. I see a "[+]" link to create new pages, but get a permission error ("You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason: You do not have permission to create new pages.") if I try to click it. Could someone create this page (I was thinking "Healing NPC" as a general term) for me? Zedadex 21:57, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
Actually, you're creating your user page. To create a page, you have to type the title of the article in the search bar and then click go . If it's not a page there will be a red link at the top of the results saying "Create (the title of your article) now! -- ✔Poké.geek✔ 22:06, 28 December 2011 (UTC)
That's odd. I know the link you're talking about - swear I've seen it before myself - but whenever I search for "Healing NPC" it doesn't show up (there are some unrelated results that show up however.) Also, whenever I type in "Healing_NPC" itself into the address bar where the article name should be, it shows up with "There is currently no text in this page. You can search for this page title in other pages, or search the related logs." With no option to create it. Zedadex 22:11, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Oh I see the problem now. Look at [this page] Since your not an autoconfirmed user yet you can't create new mainspace pages. Someone else will have to make it for you I'm afraid. --Pokemaster97 22:13, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Gotcha. Could you make the page then? I've already started screencapping for it and everything XD Zedadex 00:06, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
I know virtually nothing about the article you want to create XD. Why don't you try one of the staff members to create it for you. Since the article seems to relate to games I'd try Werdnae since he's the head of games. --Pokemaster97 01:18, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
I understand, that makes sense. I'll do that, thanks. Zedadex 04:25, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
