Choosing to use Iris's or Iris' ''is'' a matter of opinion, but the fact that they are both correct is not. :Now since it is a matter of preference as to which is used, the reason we use s's is that it is less ambiguous and easier to template. TTE always liked to point out that James' Carnevine could belong to one person named James or more than one Jame, whereas James's Carnevine belongs to James.
