Link Templates

Please use link templates when linking to stuff such as Pokémon names, attacks, and the like. For example, {{p|Pikachu}} instead of just [[Pikachu]]. This is so you don't unintentionally link to a disambiguation page.

For a full crash course on link templates, look at the list of link templates. --Shiningpikablu252 02:55, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Lucario

OK. Those squeezed images were horrendous, I wanted to replace them with the unsqueezed images. I liked those images I put on that page, and note that I didn't take off the one you put on, either. But it's whatever now. Hmdwgf 22:11, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

You shoved three images into an article for no reason. That's hardly necessary for an article. I'm sorry you're not happy with it. -Sketch 03:24, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

Can I replace Ash's Primeape image with this?

Lindsayoris15 14:13, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

It has discoloring, it's grainy and it's not PNG...if those things didn't exist, then yes, but in this case, no. Why is it that you only post on my talk page to ask about image changes yet you never respond to our questions as to why you don't save things in PNG? -Sketch 14:18, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

That photo is good enough

This is the reason . You cant get a better one.--ProngsTalk 11:01, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Of course you can get a better picture. What kind of stupid way of thinking is that? -Sketch 11:04, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Mareeep havent got a lot of episodes to choose form. Most are just the same or with other Pokémon.--ProngsTalk 11:06, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
It just needs to be a picture of Mareep. That's all. Your logic is flawed. It was in an episode of the Wallace cup. Or at most it just needs to be a higher quality screenshot from that episode. -Sketch 11:07, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Ding Dong the photo is under in the anime portion. So it does not need any photo of mareep.--ProngsTalk 11:12, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
I got that covered.--FF(editstalk) 11:14, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
What do you mean by I got that covered? --ProngsTalk 11:16, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Check Mareep's page.--FF(editstalk) 11:17, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Good work sir! Thanks! Now, Prongs, the point of the "Bad picture" template is to notify that a picture needs replaced. The picture of Mareep needed replaced, and thanks to Force Fire, we got a better one. -Sketch 11:18, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
All right we should close the topic but still dont see much difference in the pictures. --ProngsTalk 11:30, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
That's because you lack the ability to see what's wrong with it. It's small and grainy from being saved as a JPG. This new image is big, clean, and saved as a PNG. There is no "closing" of a topic. This isn't a forum. -Sketch 12:30, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Ambipom Picture

I'm confused, I thought we wanted pictures with their trainer in the picture? People basically chewed me out over this a few months ago. --HoennMaster 15:40, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Okay...

That picture of Misty's OS outfit appears in this article as a completely different image. In the article, it appears as a pic of Misty, Togepi, and Pikachu. EDIT: It just occured to me that it appears like this in Misty's article as well. When you click the image, it comes up as a completely different image, and it is UGLY. I want that changed to how in appears in the article. --Alpha TotodileListen closely... 01:03, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Maybe it's just me...but I see nothing wrong there... -Sketch 11:20, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
No, I mean it appears in those two articles as a pic of Misty, Togepi, and Pikachu, but click on the image, and your result is something pixelly and HIDEOUS. How can it be changed to how it looks in those two articles? --Alpha TotodileListen closely... 12:11, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Again...I see nothing wrong when you look at the image itself. It looks fine in the article and on the file itself. I see nothing "hideous". -Sketch 12:28, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm... maybe it's just because I'm using Safari. :| Still, it's confusing how it's one image at one moment and then another one when you click it. You're the image expert here, so you must know how to fix it.--Alpha TotodileListen closely... 18:37, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
I can't fix it if I don't see a problem, you see... -Sketch 21:00, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
So, when you click the image on one of those two articles, it comes up as the same image? If so, then this Safari is an epic failure... I want Firefox... --Alpha TotodileFREE BIRD!! 12:00, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Then get it? Discussions with the staff have revealed this is probably a cache problem...try clearing it first. -Sketch 12:31, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. ;) ...How do I empty the cache? --Alpha TotodileFREE BIRD!! 03:45, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
Depending upon your web browser. if your on safari, just click up safari, empty cache. if your on IE then its delete history, then empty cache.User:DCM 00:39, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
IT WORKS! Thank you, Sketch. Thank you also, DCM. --Alpha TotodileFREE BIRD!! 11:51, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Alright, great, glad I could help. Now, I don't want anymore edits in this topic. D: -Sketch 12:06, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

I have another problem...

This file won't show up on a certain usertag on my page. I've tried every available size for it (of course, a size that doesn't make the tag look ugly), but it doesn't show up on the tag. (Also tried clearing the cache. Didn't work.) --Alpha TotodileFREE BIRD!! 04:49, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Which tag? It may help to know which tag you're trying to put the image on...--Shiningpikablu252 04:54, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Do you happen to have "Error creating thumbnail:" displayed instead of the picture? Yohrd 14:17, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
@Pikablu - The tag says "This user loves Barry." @Yohrd: Yes, that's what I got. --Alpha TotodileFREE BIRD!! 20:38, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Well this is an issue that is quite common for thumbnailed pictures. It is believed to be something to do with the relatively recent move to dual servers. The problem is, if you try to resize the picture under a certain threshold (which is different for each picture...), you get the error message. We'll have to be patient until a solution is found. Yohrd 09:37, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Until then, I'll just put his game counterpart's sprite on the tag. (Tomorrow, b/c I've already made four userspace edits.) --Alpha TotodileFREE BIRD!! 11:02, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Battle Sequences

The reason I'm taking off the battle sequences is because the Major events section is not supposed to summarize every bit of the episode. If you check the source for Template:DP Episode, you'll see the hidden text. I'm following this because of what happened in DP127. Besides, the synopsis should cover most of the battles. --rockersk08 23:43, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

I just found out about this. Sorry about the confusion. -Sketch 23:46, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. Personally, I would rather keep the battle documents until a complete synopsis is written. But that's just me.--rockersk08 23:48, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Although I am an advocate of going the extra mile to get information, I like the summaries because...you know..."tl;dr (too long; didn't read)" -Sketch 23:52, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Talk:Poké Ball

I'd understand your point regarding the removal if the information I asked for was in the article. There is, however, no mention of it when I tried to look for it - so I was asking both so I could know and so it could be added on the page. I'm aware of Bulbapedia's talk page policy, no need to remind about that, in my opinion the question was related to the page itself. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 23:36, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

Fine, don't answer then. It's very easy to ignore a random comment on a talk page, I know. FYI, I found the answer to my question from GameFAQs, though, and saw that the idea I got was wrong, so I've got no reason to ask it again. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 10:04, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, I didn't see it as something for the article....it looked like you were asking about trading in general. -Sketch 11:01, 13 June 2009 (UTC)
That's okay :p I found out that it's the Classic Ribbon that restricts trading, not Cherish Ball, so after all I think there's really nothing to add on the article. :] UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 11:05, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Could you move this please? It's the screen for sending a Pokémon to the PokéWalker, not the PC. tc²₆tc26 13:38, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

What do you want me to move it to? What name? Sketch 13:45, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

HGSS Silver

Should it's new sprite be added to the page?--☆Coolピカチュウ! 16:40, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Silver is a boy. Not an it. D: Yeah,  . Use this one. -Sketch 16:46, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Yo. Can you make it 64x64 instead of 45x65? I need it for the templates. D: R.A. Hunter Blade 17:40, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
The sprite is 65 pixels tall. It's going to get cut off by a row. -Sketch 17:49, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Gah! Why does it keep going from 45x65 to 80x80? D: R.A. Hunter Blade 17:55, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Because Kogoro told me to make it 80x80. D: -Sketch 17:56, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Can't you get rid of the 45x65? It messes up the templates... R.A. Hunter Blade 17:59, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
I'm trying but it's not working. .-. -Sketch 18:00, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Upload another? But then we'd have 3... R.A. Hunter Blade 18:01, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
My Silver should be the only sprite...in any case, I'll re-upload it, but I can't do 64 x 64. So tell me what size to make it. -Sketch 18:04, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Kogoro says to leave the 80x80, go to the image itself, click on the sprite, then hard refresh it. then purge any page the sprite is on. -Sketch 18:09, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'll do that. Because the May ones are 64x64... along with Brendan. The GenIV ones are 80x80... and then Wally and Blue/Green are also 64x64... I guess with the templates 80x80 would work, but I need to get it to stop going back to 45x65 or it'll be screwed. R.A. Hunter Blade 18:15, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Done. It should be fine now. I'll go try... R.A. Hunter Blade 18:17, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Ugh...

Sprite Trivia

  • The Pokémon Diamond and Pearl sprite is the only one not to show a smiling Clefable, though its Pokémon Platinum sprite depicts it as smiling as previous games did. -Clefable's Page
  • The colors used in Smoochum's Generation II Shiny sprite are the colors used in the normal-colored sprites afterwards, similar to Elekid, Machop, and, to a lesser degree, Aipom. -Smoochum's Page
  • Kangaskhan is one of the few Pokémon to have more than one Pokémon in its sprite. The others include Slowbro, Slowking, and Mantine. Though some may say Kangaskhan does not count since the baby Kangaskhan is not a separate evolutionary stage. -Kangaskhan's Page.

Zoroark

I see you protected Zoroark from being created. The reason given is "speculation crackdown". I don't think you're up to date on the latest news. Zoroark was officially confirmed in the February 15 issue of CoroCoro. Can you tell me whether you knew this and there was a different reason? I'm very curious. Spenfen

The article's in the process of being created. We don't want someone making the article as "zorark is a pokeymanz from gen 5 its a darktype, heres a pixtsure" TTEchidna 03:14, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
Exactly, they are protected to prevent jumping the gun and getting articles that would basically be as TTE described. -Sketch 12:38, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Pokemon move template

Just so you know, tc26 did ask TTEchidna and he said it was okay. It was slightly discussed, I suppose. --ケンジガール 22:56, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Should have been discussed with everyone. Multiple people are against this idea. It's too much information in a small space. The template is for articles, not for use in lists. -Sketch 22:59, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Agreed. Just letting you know how it happened :P --ケンジガール 23:00, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Why delete?

I made an article for Pokémon Apokélypse that you deleted. I'm not going to recreate it and start a fight with you, but I would like to know your reasoning. Bulbapedia has lots of articles about unofficial fandom. What makes this one bad? Even Wikipedia has an article for this.

There wasn't enough information in your article to actually keep it... something like this would go in an article primarily about things in the fandom. Try writing something in your user space first. But just because something is on Wikipedia, that doesn't mean we have to have it too. -Sketch 02:07, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Pop-culture origins

I think "explicitly stated" is a bit much to ask for, for origins based on pop-culture. I don't recall any Pokémon (except the Poliwag family) ever having their origins "explicitly stated", and sometimes a pop-culture reference is just plain obvious (see Wobbuffet). I agree we should be extremely cautious when adding origins like that, but surely adding them isn't ruled out altogether? --AndyPKMN 02:23, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
