:::::Just to note, Darfire, that's exactly why you shouldn't use a template. Because it changes everywhere. Meaning, I edit my signature template, boom, the server now has to update fifty, a hundred, maybe even more pages, all in one shot. That's a big drag on the server. And especially if I change a picture in my signature. Using the normal subst: system might have it's drawback, but it's not a big deal normally. If you're changing your signature that often, then it's really your own fault if you end up with inconsistent signatures across different pages.

:::::And even if you don't edit your signature template, other people can. Someone wants to vandalize the site? All they need to do is go to your signature template, and stick some massive coding in there. :::::::Most vandals don't go checking user talk pages for helpful ways to vandalize. Trust me, most vandals ''would'' know about that stuff... remember the vandal a little while ago who was impersonating admins here? had one just like him on GuildWiki a week or so ago, taking advantage of the fact that lower-case "L" looks like upper-case "I" (lIllI, can you see the difference). And days later, a vandal tried the same trick on another wiki. Never underestimate vandals; they generally vandalize because they know all this stuff, it makes them feel "smart" when they can do so much damage like that.

:::As it is, there's currently no rule that says you can't do that... just generally, if someone's clicking your signature, they expect to be taken to your userpage, not to a totally different website. People shouldn't have to worry about where that signature's going to take them when they click it. (I've personally had to get into the habit of hovering over links and checking the status bar, so I know where I'm going.)

:::...can't you simply post a link on your own page as well? That way, you can give a bigger, better explanation of why the song is so awesome, and why people should click it.
