:"Dad" is far too general. If someone was looking Ash Ketchum's rarely mentioned but never seen father, that'd be a bit jarring to see Norman. Or what about other people's fathers, like [[Cedric Juniper]], or [[Byron]], or any of the other father's we have pages for (there's more than you think). Dad/Father might be a candidate for a disambig at some point to be honest.
