FANG-TAN has been a fan of the Pocket Monsters franchise since he was in grade school, roughly around 1998 and 1999. Within the Pocket Monsters fandom, he is currently a member of Bulbagarden forums and is an on-and-off member of Serebii.net Forums (under the alias "Satoshi"). His first appearance on a Pocket Monsters forum was Serebii.net Forums. He has a dead account on PokeCommunity (CharmUp!). His real name is Johnny Nguyen, which is mostly known to folks that follow his Twitter account (AzumaYugi).
He is a broad fan that takes part in almost all facets of the franchise, be it the games, anime, or the various Pocket Monsters manga. FANG-TAN is a thinker and likes making critical analysis of the things he enjoys. He owns an anime/manga-centered blog (theotakuspot(dot)animeblogger(dot)net) under the alias Mikoto, where he reviews various assets of Japanese fictional entertainment as a hobby. He has a strong interest in Japanese culture and is currently studying the language. When not partaking in his geeky interests or lurking Nico Nico Douga, he will most likely be found bumming around with his friends either at their homes or at his college campus.
It is to note that he seems to like twintailed spunky characters like Mei. A lot.

Why, hello there, dear visitor. I started this blog in hopes of sharing my thoughts on one of my most beloved hobbies: anime, manga, and visual novels. Hopefully, it doesn’t turn into a chore and stays fun. Hopefully. I love all sorts of anime, given that they don’t completely fall into dumb cliches, aren’t cash-ins of a popular overrated genre that does things that were done millions of times before, or fail to do what they’re supposed to do.
My other hobbies and interests include Asian Dramas, drawing, gaming, horror movies, and just hanging out. I listen to a lot of J-Pop and K-Pop, like your typical Asian. You’ll probably see me write about dramas and gaming from time to time.
Even though this site is also known as “The Otaku Spot”, Steven and I aren’t really exaggerated geeks like the ones stereotyped in Japan or in Genshiken. xD We’re just overenthusiastic about things. Also, despite popular belief, I am not a hikikomori. I need to get out more.
My favorite anime/manga series and movies include the following: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, FLCL, Mushishi, Yuu☆gi☆ou/The☆Game☆King/Yu-Gi-Oh! (THE MANGA), K-ON! (guilty pleasure), Lucky☆Star, Mononoke, Fullmetal Alchemist, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, The Girl Who leapt Through Time, Grave of the Fireflies, and many more. I’m also a very big CLAMP fan in general, so expect me to go ga-ga over Cardcaptor Sakura and Kobato. ;D
Some of my favorite video game series are the following: Shin Megami Tensei, Tales of, Metal Gear, Shenmue, Ace Attorney/Gyakuten Saiban, Resident Evil/Biohazard, Silent Hill, The Legend of Zelda, Mario, Street Fighter, Disgaea, The World Ends With You, Final Fantasy, Growlanser, Digimon Story, Forbidden Siren, and Fatal Frame/Project Zero. Basically, my favorite types of games are usually either open-world, RPGs, action games, or survival horror games. I’m also partial to Fullmetal Alchemist games, the only anime-based games I like. Right now, I also have a penchant for the Japanese doujin games brought over by Carpe Fulgur and want to play Fortune Summoners Deluxe.
I'm a big fan of Type-Moon media, such as the Tsukihime and Fate/stay Night series visual novels, their anime, manga, movie, light novel, and video game spin-offs. Kara no Kyoukai is amazing.
