+My name is Evan, but I go by evkl online, all lowercase.  My birthday is January 17, and I'm 19 years old, currently attending college in New York State.  I'm a native of the [[wp:Philadelphia, Pennsylvania|Philadelphia]] area ([[wp:Pennsylvania|Pennsylvania]] side of the river).  I've been working on Bulbagarden since Archaic took over in December of 2002.  I've been playing Pokémon since I was about 9, although I find myself playing less and less as I've grown up.

+I think knowledge is very important.  I also think music is very important.  Those two aren't really related at all, I'm just saying.  On the knowledge front, I think Bulbapedia is a very good thing, as a specialized repository for knowledge that otherwise wouldn't be aggregated anywhere else.  On the music front, if you're talking to me, expect an away message or signature or something involving an obscure reference to music or lyrics.  Or maybe not-so-obscure.  [[wp:Katy Perry|Katy Perry]] is cool with me.
-About me...I'm 19.  My birthday is January 17.  I'm now attending college somewhere in the north-central part of New York State and enjoying it quite a lot, which explains why I'm not around here as much.  I hail from suburban Philadelphia, which gets an unnecessarily bad rap for a whole lot of reasons, some of which I don't fully understand, but many of which I do.  Anyway, I grew up there, so I suppose I liked it enough.
-Do I still like this?  This being the whole Bulbapedia thing.  I like the institution, of course, and I'm very proud of where it's come over the past few years, although my interest in subjects pertaining to it has waned as I've matured.  But it's a fun time around here, and I'd like to think that I'm not inactive in the community.  I still enjoy keeping things nice and fresh and orderly around here, don't get me wrong--but I am no longer what one might call an active contributor.  I do a lot of work in the policy of Bulbagarden.net and planning on new projects and such, when I have the time.  Otherwise, I'm kind of laid-back.  Pretty normal, I guess.

+As I said, knowledge is important.  I've taken a lot of courses, but I have an interest or special knowledge in a few subjects.  I'm very comfortable with both American and Middle Eastern history and politics from roughly 1600 to the present.  My major involves evaluating and solving problems in governance and administration, which has exposed me to a healthy dose of government, philosophy, and economics.
