'''Carmenstar97''' joined [[Bulbapedia]] on October 23, 2010. She enjoys playing the [[Version|Pokémon main series]] games, and believes the [[spin-off Pokémon games]] can be quite frustrating to play. She tends to play more than one game at a time. When playing the games, she follows the same trend that {{Ash}} does in the anime when setting up her team: {{t|Electric}}, {{t|Flying}}, {{t|Grass}}, {{t|Fire}}, {{t|Water}}, and usually {{t|Ground}}. However, she would happily train any [[Elemental type|type]]. She usually does not keep [[status move]]s, as she believes they are a waste of a turn, and prefers to make the opposing Pokémon [[Fainting|faint]] as soon as possible.


<big><big>History as a Pokémon Fan</big></big>

I started out watching the [[Pokémon anime]] at a very young age, and I loved it. I believe I started watching the anime around the end of the [[original series]], as I have a faint memory of {{an|Misty}} traveling with {{Ash}}. My favorite [[series]] was the [[Advanced Generation series]]. I loved [[Ash Ketchum|the]] {{an|May|group}} {{an|Brock|of}} [[Max|four]], because it felt a lot like family. I stopped watching the anime after [[Pokémon: Battle Frontier|the ninth season]] started, because {{tt|I didn't have|Recently, though, I got a new TV and got Cartoon Network, much to my happiness!}} [[Cartoon Network]] on my TV. My days as a Pokémon fan were pretty much over.

Then came one day in late August 2010, when I had nothing to do. So, what did I end up doing? I watched some of the first Pokémon episodes! I never would've guessed that I was soon to become a huge fan of Pokémon. And so, I wound up becoming one. I became so obsessed with it, that I did a whole bunch of research on it. I found out that there were [[Pokémon games]], and surprisingly, I had never known about the games. In the course of about a month, I had watched [[List of anime episodes|every single episode]] that had aired, including [[Banned episodes|the banned ones]].

I wanted to learn more. I played {{game|Crystal}}, my first Pokémon game, and I loved it. I then took a step back, playing {{game|Yellow}}. I loved walking around with {{ga|Red's Pikachu|Pikachu}}, and I liked how all of the [[starter Pokémon]] were given to you. Soon after that, I played {{game|Emerald}}. I discovered my first [[shiny Pokémon]] in this game. It was a [[level]] 6 {{p|Whismur}} in [[Rusturf Tunnel]]. I didn't know anything about shiny Pokémon, but I caught it anyways, because I knew it looked different. I only focused on two of my Pokémon: {{p|Blaziken}} and {{p|Altaria}}), and I regret doing that, as I barely beat the {{ho|Elite Four}} (I had to rely on {{p|Rayquaza}} to help me). I am currently replaying through Pokémon Emerald with {{p|Mudkip}} as my starter Pokémon.

Then came the games on the [[Nintendo DS]]. The touchscreen features made the games more fun to play. I played {{game|Platinum}}, and {{tt|I have dedicated the most time on this game|300+ hours}}. I felt the most satisfied with Platinum, and I loved my team. After giving up on my Platinum game, I played the Japanese version of {{game3|Black and White|Pokémon White|s}}. I really enjoyed this game. The seasons are a nice addition. I got the English version of {{game|Black and White|s}}. I got both versions because I wanted to trade between games. I finished my White version, and I am currently playing through the English version of Pokémon Black. I found and caught my second [[shiny Pokémon]] in this game in [[Chargestone Cave]], while looking for the perfect {{p|Joltik}} to add to my team. It was a [[level]] 25 {{p|Klink}}, but I will not use it because I've already planned out my team.

While I watched the old episodes of Pokémon, my sister discovered [[Bulbapedia]]. When I first saw the website, I was confused. The first thing I saw was the countdown to [[Pokémon Black and White Versions|September 18, 2010]]. I didn't understand what the point of a countdown to a "[[n:Black_and_White_release_date,_trailer_revealed|random day]]" was. I used the website, and I loved how organized it was! I lurked Bulbapedia for a while before joining on October 23, 2010. At first, I was so confused about how to edit. I knew nothing about {{bp|wikicode}}! I learned over time by reading '''everything''' in the {{cat|Bulbapedia policies}}. About two months after joining, I made my first edit, on December 25, 2010. I usually make minor edits, such as fixing links. On March 5, 2011, I became a {{bp|Junior Administrators|Junior Administrator}} to help out with {{2v2|Black|White}}, but on April 30, 2011, I was officially made a Junior Admin. I enjoy helping out here, and I hope for Bulbapedia to be more complete!
