This trainer will either be Cal, if the player has never used Mystery Gift with anyone, or the last player he or she has used Mystery Gift with. If it is Cal, his team will consist of the final forms of all three Johto starter Pokémon at level 50. If it is another player that has been Mystery Gifted with, their team will consist of whatever Pokémon were in their party at the time of Mystery Gifting, including held items, moves, levels, and so on. No matter what, however, the opponent trainer's sprite will be of Gold. This would show up as the Ace Trainer design in HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Generation IV
This trainer will show up as the Ace Trainer Cal design in HeartGold and SoulSilver. Up to 10 other trainers can appear as well. This is done through the Pokewalker. When you meet someone in the Pokewalker and resync back to the players game, the trainer and their pokemon will appear in the basement.
