Evolved

My Weepinbell just evolved into Victreebel at level 34, in Pokemon Blue. I don't see the evolve level anywhere on the page.

It doesn't evolve by level. It evolves by Leaf Stone. --Zeta 19:19, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Sometimes that happens depending on what Pokémon are in the party if it evolves by stone in R/B. It's just another glitch. --TTEchidna 01:03, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

Sweet Smell? o.o

"Victreebel lures prey into its mouth with sweet smells, then clamps down, trapping it."

The bold section's a link on the article. Unless anyone objects, I'm going to change it to the move Sweet Scent. :) Archaeic 17:38, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Huh, that's odd.. I'd think it'd link to Sweet Scent instead of Sweet Smell. Ah well. Redirect time. Tina δ 18:26, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Curious

Is it me, or does the top leaf and the stem "tail" seem to not really be attached to any part of the main body? ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 15:34, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Now that you mention it...--I'm Pokelova(Talk) 16:18, 6 June 2009 (UTC)
I noticed that too...
Odd. Maybe in the anime it shows if it's connected...
Edit: It may be that the leaf is connected at the back of the "lip," shown in this picture:

Pitfall trap

I read that the mouth of a pitcher plant is known as a pitfall trap. Do you think it's notable to note that Team Rocket's most common traps are pitfalls and that James happened to own a Victreebel? I'm not saying that this is why he was given a Victreebel, I'm just saying it's an interesting coincidence. --ケンジガール 03:48, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Strange Mistake

On the type effectiveness part, it says that the effectiveness of grass is 1/4, then in the "notes" part, it repeats this fact. Why? If it was the same as Gen I, why mention it? Also, on the Bulbasaur article, it says that grass's effectiveness was 1/2 in Gen I, which is untrue. Can someone explain this? Thanks, Samjohn95 14:22, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Character limit trivia

How do we know for sure that it's spelled the way it is due to the character limit? Unlike Feraligatr, which is missing an important vowel, the single "L" in Victreebel doesn't affect the pronunciation or readability. We don't assume that Articuno was meant to have a "C" before the "T", so why assume that Victreebel was meant to be spelled differently? --AndyPKMN 14:13, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

French Translation

Weepinbell and Victreebel seem to have the same French-version name (Boustiflor). I'm pretty sure that can't be true, so can anyone who has or is familiar with the French version please supply the actual French name of whichever isn't Boustiflor? Thanks -- Rassilon 19:25, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Madatsubomi (Bellsprout) is Chétiflor, Utsudon (Weepinbell) is Boustiflor, and Utsubotto (Victreebell) is Empiflor. --Kaiko Mikkusu (talk) 08:37, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

The Pokédex is wrong

I don't know if it should be noted, but the Pokédex makes a mistake; it says that Victreebel's acid dissolves anything, but if this were true, then the acid would have dissolved Victreebel from the inside. Mangaman13 (talk) 14:13, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

That's not necessarily the case. Its acid can dissolve anything, sure, but not everything. There may be a lining that prevents Victreebel from dissolving itself. For a real life analogy, stomachs of animals (including humans) contain acidic juices which digest food, yet a lining prevents the stomach from digesting itself. Berrenta (talk) 14:39, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
..."anything, sure, but not everything"? No... That is a contradiction; both of those cannot be true. Mangaman has it right. That said, personally I could care less about remarking on commonplace "anime physics" (/logic). Tiddlywinks (talk) 14:54, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, now that I think about it. Then again, it could simply be another case of "Pokédex exaggeration." Berrenta (talk) 14:58, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
