Redundancy

Shouldn’t this be merged with Team Rocket Grunt? IIMarckus 18:11, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Merge

As everyone who bothered to comment here and in the old Grunt talk page agreed on the merge, I have merged. =D Memo326 18:19, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Archive

This is everything that was in the talk page for Team Rocket Grunt before the merge. Not sure if I should keep this, but better safe than sorry. =D Memo326 18:19, 30 March 2010 (UTC)

Old Team Rocket Grunt page discussion

I think this article should be merged, they are mostly about the same subject...so the info doesn't have to be in two places. MaverickNate 01:24, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Agreed, why not work the Rocket brother in as well? --- Aura-Knight 22:35, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
No.--Alec9 01:52, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
It should be merged. This part should go in some game section.--Starlight the ampharos 16:47, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
We don't need two articles about the same thing. And sign your posts with four tildes.--Starlight the ampharos 02:06, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
If you want to present an opinion on a page move, can you provide some sort of rationale or argument instead of a vague "yes" or "no," Xhandin? Thank you.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 07:36, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
I don't see why there are two articles for it in the first place. They both cover different information on the same subject. They should definitely be merged in my opinion Ash zane 11:39, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
The two articles are for the Trainer Class page and the just general information on the grunts, nonetheless, it is pointless and confusing to have two articles about the same thing. Merge.--Clarky13 22:34, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
The two pages' subject is virtually the same, and they both cover the same subject. I vote for a merge.--Angrysmurf 23:36, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Shall i merge it for you? SpecialK Leiks Lucario and The Celebi Glitch 13:00, 3 January 2010 (UTC)
This definitely needs to be merged somehow. This article is basically just a chart of sprites, which could and should easily be integrated into the bigger, more informative article. --ZestyCactus 06:01, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Whips

Is it ever stated why Grunts(and other trainers) in generation I carry whips? --Proctor 10:02, 24 July 2010 (UTC)

Foreshadowing?

In Gold, Silver, and Crystal, the Rocket Grunt encountered in Cerulean City, when defeated, learns that Team Rocket is disbanded, wonders what he should do, and then disappears. Team Rocket hasn't been heard from since. However, in HeartGold and SoulSilver, his dialogue was retconned - after wondering what he should do now that Team Rocket has been disbanded again, he says he'll go back to his home country and start Team Rocket anew. Obviously, this dialogue is much more recent and could very well have been added for a reason - is it possible that Game Freak is planning (or at least planning for) an eventual second comeback for Team Rocket in another region in some future game and foreshadowing it through this new dialogue? And should this be noted in the article's mention of the grunt, or is it just far too speculative despite the curiousness of it all? Teamrocketspy621 23:21, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Move

I, for once, don't support the move to Team Rocket Grunt (Trainer class). Why? I think that Trainer classes which are somehow important to the plot should be considered as character articles, not as Trainer class articles. Aside from being a class of trainers, Grunts are also very important characters. Hence, I think they should get the same treatment as Pokémon Trainer or Gym Leader. The (Trainer class) thing should merely be a redirect but the article shouldn't be treated as equal to Youngster or Bug Catcher, as they are important characters, not just random trainers. I think same applies to Kimono Girls. --Maxim 11:49, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Well then, it should be at least moved to Team Rocket Grunt, as titles should be singular and the games show that Grunt should be capitalized. However, this is one of the problems with the new Trainer class disambiguation, that many Trainer classes are also more than just Trainer classes. --SnorlaxMonster 12:23, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

They should move it because it is a trainer class. Yes, they are important to the plot, but considering that there are thousands of grunts, it is only a trainer class, and should be considered such. The Magma, aqua, and galactic grunts are just different varieties of grunt. Grunts are grunts. They are a trainer class, and all of them should be grouped together on that page. I vote in favor of a move.--Pokemon26 18:44, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

I agree that this page should be moved to Team Rocket Grunt (Trainer class) since a Grunt really is a trainer class, anyway. Besides, like Pokemon26 said, there are thousands of grunts all over the Pokémon world. And because they are so common, I agree that this page be moved to Team Rocket Grunt (Trainer class).Pokemaniac2000 17:34, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Can we at least move this to singular? All article titles should be singular, and Grunt should be capitalized. --SnorlaxMonster 23:18, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Yanma issue

It says that Jessie stole the Yanma in the multiple yanma template, but I'm not sure about that. Yea Tyler from that episode weakened Yanma, but there isn't a rule that states the one who weakens a Pokemon has the sole right to catch it. Granted what Team Rocket did was a dick move, but they never stole it. I'd say they were just faster to actually catching it. Besides, Ash and co. had no problem with them catching it. Or at least, not enough to chase down Team Rocket, mainly due to another Yanma nearby. So I just want to see if some people agree on my point before I make a change. In A Manica 16:54, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

damn I wanted to make the change but someone else did, and I thought it was policy to discuss potential edits that might cause controversy before doing anything. Thieves in my edits, taking my credits. Ah well I'll just make edits first and ask questions later. In A Manica 17:23, 17 December 2010 (UTC) - unsigned comment from In A Manica (talkcontribs)
Well, I certainly hoped someone would say something before adding to the article. Don't worry about credits being taken, it's the nature of a wiki, and all this information is our collaborated work. Your point is here and you justified your reasons, and that's all that matters. Jellotalk 17:28, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Foreign Team Rocket Grunt

Does the foreign Grunt from Isshu deserve his own page? I think he's notable enough as he appears in two sets of games, is battlable, and provides the player with an important item. --jda95 11:39, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

User:SnorlaxMonster/Sandbox/Machine Part Rocket Grunt. My opinion is that he stays in the userspace until he gets a name. --SnorlaxMonster 12:07, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Trivia

Yamato Don't you think Yamato design was probably used as inspiration for the female Team Rocket Grunt sprite from Generation II? I know it's normally the other way but her episode aired in August 6, 1998 and the game got released in November 21, 1999 LurKasumi 20:27, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

It's already noted in the article. Ataro 20:30, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
