Mewtwo or Pichu

I don't think it's necessary to mention Mewtwo's or Pichu's fate yet. No matter how well foundated, it's just an assumption as of January 21st. --Johans 19:06, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Ha? Of course Mewtwo is coming back and Pichu is not. But we need proth. Cerberus 19:21, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

What? No, Lucario IS this generations Mewtwo....Mewtwo's not coming back....and Pokémon Trainer replaced Pichu. Why don't we move this to forums???? --Theryguy512 19:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Given the nature of the leak, that looks to be the final Pokémon lineup. Besides which, Serebii already said that Lucario replaces Mewtwo and he just confirmed on his site today that he does have insider information on the game. --FabuVinny T-C-S 21:10, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I guess I'll believe Serebii. I just think that part needs a better wording anyway, possibly by not mentioning Mewtwo or Pichu. If some administrator can edit it, it would be nice. It's good that the article is locked BTW. --Johans 21:26, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Make up you're mind weather of not Serebii is reliable or not. We can't jump to conclusions. Cerberus 21:23, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

If anything, Mewtwo and Pichu are unconfirmed for being playable or not. Ness is in Brawl, and Lucas takes most, if not all, of his powers. Wait it out. We will see! TTEchidnaGSDS! 22:38, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

What dos ness have to do with this? Also maybe that was story mode and Mewtwo is doing somthing else at the time. Cerberus 23:30, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Everyone figured that Ness would be out because Lucas was in. Same difference with Mewtwo and Lucario. TTEchidnaGSDS! 23:32, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

I think we should ice this for now. Just see what happens. Cerberus 23:37, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

I took the mention of Pichu and Mewtwo out of the article. Mewtwo and Pichu are really unlikely to return but we can wait until the final rosta is confirmed to actually say that on the article. --FabuVinny T-C-S 16:48, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Manaphy

This is great. How come Manphy is not on the page? Cerberus 11:34, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Most likely because the article is fully protected and an administrator is not around to make additions. It'll be added soon enough. // SzayelAporroGranz 11:49, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
I got it. Now where have all those extra Whobby Pokémon come from? --FabuVinny T-C-S 16:41, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Yes I did not here anything about Leafeon. Were did that come from? Cerberus 17:18, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Were did you hear about Leafeon? --DarthCookieMonster 18:33, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I have no idea if Leafeon has been confirmed or not (I can never make it to these types of events), but it's been on the list for roughly a week now, if not longer. // SzayelAporroGranz 19:17, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Pokemon voices

I'm thinking this statement However, the Pokémon no longer speak in their anime voices, but instead cry out their sound effect voices from the videogames. should not be here. Pokemon still have their anime voices, and heck, the Pokeball has the anime sound effect for the first time. Goldchaos 21:17, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

What? Cerberus 21:39, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Apparently, the Pokémon no longer have their anime voices (what the article says), and GC is saying otherwise. I'm trying to look for videos on this, but everyone I find has only still pictures. // SzayelAporroGranz 21:52, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
I hope not. I like it with the voices. Cerberus 22:00, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Are you talking about the Poké Ball item or the Pokémon Trainer character, Goldchaos? --FabuVinny T-C-S 01:10, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Pokeball I think. Cerberus 02:19, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

That statement has to be wrong anyway, since Pikachu still goes "Pika pika pika" and such. Why would Pikachu gets its anime voice and none of the other Pokemon? As for videos, this one here: [1] It has Achamo and Pochama saying their names. Goldchaos 16:59, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Well, playable characters are more important than items, but that video and the Jigglypuff/Lucario commercial confirm that Piplup at least has its anime voice. --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:44, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

In brawl centeral, there is a video near the bottom which shows king dedede vs. Ike. ABout 35 seconds in, chickorita appers from a pokeball and clearly yells "chicka" instead of "erun". So I have to say the rumor of pokemon using their video game cries is BUSTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Case closed *gravel is hered hitting a wodden table*--Quick Man 21:19, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah we already came to that conclusion with Pochama. --FabuVinny T-C-S 21:22, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Jp URL

The Japanese URL for Brawl is busted. There's a '/' slash after the 'index.html', and it thus reads it as a 404. I don't have the powers to edit this page, so... yeah. Tina δ 17:55, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Was that link always like that? 0_0 --FabuVinny T-C-S 18:27, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

Big News!

If you go to this link here, you will see all the official pictures from Brawl showing Lucario. Jigglypuff isn't in it though and if you watch this, which is the Brawl opening it clearly shows some characters who were thought to have been removed. Pokémon Master22:38, 29 January 2008(UTC)

I don't see Lucario. Cerberus 15:36, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Look at the second picture. There's Lucario in the Character Select screen. Tina δ 15:44, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

You said it was in the veideo. --Cerberus 18:01, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Looks like Serebii found some other pics showing Lucario....--Theryguy512 21:40, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Also a fake looking rouster. Just saying Cerberus 21:50, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Na ah. Have you seen the roster at ign on that video special?PokeManiac102 21:51, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Considering the guys at Serebii have insider information on Brawl (so they say, that is), I don't think they would be posting it on their site if they so much as thought it was fake. // SzayelAporroGranz 21:54, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
But highly unlikely that it is fake. Those images at serebii. Looks too realPokeManiac102 21:57, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

No he dos not. Cerberus 21:58, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

It looks real to me. Also, I think SSBB is out in Japan. If that's an actual picture of the game, I think it's safe to say it's true. Tina δ 22:05, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
It will be out in two daysPokeManiac102 22:08, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Sometimes there's early-release things.. Tina δ 22:13, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, this new info over the last 24 hours is definately from actual leaked copies. --FabuVinny T-C-S 22:35, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
And now I want to see more of Young Link. I'll see if I can find any tidbits to add but all the major sites are down so don't expect much. --FabuVinny T-C-S 22:37, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Sigh... Makes me unable to wait till March. Oh well Midnight Celtic 22:59, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

At least you only have to wait little over a month. I don't even know when I'm going to be able to play this game. --FabuVinny T-C-S 23:01, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Wait, what country do you live in??? --Theryguy512 23:03, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
Why the surprise? Europe, Australia and other more minor areas don't have the release date yet. For the record, I live in England. --FabuVinny T-C-S 23:09, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Who, me? Although I have a question? Who's that third from the right? Looks like R.O.B Midnight Celtic 23:07, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

That's because it is R.O.B. --FabuVinny T-C-S 23:07, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
He meant FabPokeManiac102 23:08, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Ahhh. Thanks on both counts Midnight Celtic 23:11, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

I hate to ask another question, but, who's to the right of ROB? I can't quite make the name out and it looks like Princess ?????. Who is it? Midnight Celtic 14:36, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

That would be Captain Olimar from Pikmin. // SzayelAporroGranz 15:21, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Sweet, Although found who I was looking for, and for the record, I have no idea where "Princess" came from

Eevee and Eeveelutions

Ok, at Whobby 2008 Eevee was seen coming out of a Poké Ball right, then it would evolve into 1 of its 7 forms and use an attack. So the main Poké Ball Pokémon is Eevee which evolves into either Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon or Glaceon. Ok? Pokémon Master 20:46, 30 December 2008 (UTC).

Wo, hold up! That's some pretty big info, and we'll need some proff before adding it to the page. Can you try to get a video of Eevee on Youtube? If you could, that'll be great. Thanks. --Theryguy512 12:00, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Ta da! I just found this video on youtube. It says that Eevee is in it, but I have to go. So can anyone look at the video and tell me where in it you can see Eevee??? --Theryguy512 12:04, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Get the link to it.

Oops...Sorry. I forgot to put it in my last edit. Here it is: [2] --Theryguy512 12:07, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Something minor, but on the list of Poké Ball Pokémon, Eevee is marked with four asterisks (****), but there's no explaination as to what this is supposed to mean. I would fix it myself, but the article is protected, so it would be greatly appreciated if an administrator could do it instead. // SzayelAporroGranz 00:12, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

That's a typo since it was at Whobby. --FabuVinny T-C-S 16:09, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Spear Pillar as a playable stage

Not sure what the policy is regarding adding this stuff to the article yet, but I thought I'd put it here for all to see: according to this screencap, Spear Pillar is a stage in the game. The text says テンガンざん, やりのはしら (Tengan Mountain, Spear Pillar). And just in case you think I've been getting creative with Photoshop, the video I capped it from can be found here. Bikini MiltankMoo, I say. 14:15, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

That explains the absense of Dialga and Palkia until now. --FabuVinny T-C-S 15:06, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Don't see it. Cerberus 15:37, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

It's the one highlighted... --FabuVinny T-C-S 15:50, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

It in Seibi also. I see it there. Jigglypuff big now. Cerberus 01:29, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

Trophy/Assist Trophy

Do you think there's going to be assist trophies from Pokémon? Also, wouldn't it make sense if all Pokémon characters are regular trophies as well, like the previous games? --ht14 17:33 3 February 2008 (GMT)

Why would there be Pokémon Assist Trophies? That's what Poké Balls are for! --Theryguy512 22:47, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
It's still an interesting thought though.... --ht14 17:49 3 February 2008 (GMT)
It's just pointlessly redundant. That'd be like having Smash Balls along with Assist Trophies of the characters that instantly use a Final Smash.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 23:08, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Yea, Exactly my point. --Theryguy512 23:33, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
Now I get it. My bad... --ht14 22:16, 3 February 2008 (GMT)
I would have liked to see a human as an Assist Trophy. (A Pokémon Trainer would have worked if they hadn't made it playable or a Pokémon Ranger would have been interesting.) But the game is out in Japan and that has apparently not happened. --FabuVinny T-C-S 11:12, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Jirachi

I was on youtube and I found this video about Classic mode. After you complete it, there are the credits. As it goes on it shows who did the voices of the Pokémon. Then when looking at the faces of the Pokémon you can see Jirachi's face.See here for yourself. Its face is next to deoxys's.

Yeah, Jirachi appears to be a Poké Ball Pokémon. I'm looking for a complete list but the only one I've found so far is rather dubious. There are also claims that some of the Pokémon reported at Whobby are false. --FabuVinny T-C-S 13:12, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

At around 3:30, you can see what looks like a trophy of Jirachi.See here.

I see no trophy. And why are you reporting this here? We already have Jirachi on the article. --FabuVinny T-C-S 03:34, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Inbetween 3:25 to 3:35 the character opens a random box (how do I know what they're called?) and a trophy falls out. The trophy appears to be Jirachi in its D/P sprite from. Anyway its just added on proof just in case people get suspicious. Also, just for the record, if you look at the first video I put in the Jirachi convo, I remember seeing a brown face with braille, something you could look into?

Yeah the one on top of Celebi's picture looks like Regirock and I think the picture next to that one looks like Garchomp or some Dragon or Ghost-Type.

Surprising Info

Hey, I was looking and found that Brawl is the first dual-layer Wii disc. Here's proof: http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/02/when-your-tobac.html . Do you think this deserves a mention in the article? And if so, can an admin (since it's protected and all) please add it in? --Theryguy512 22:31, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Tiny edit

Might want to replace the little text from "Ivysaur about to get a Smash Ball" to "Ivysaur about to attack a Smash Ball", since you can only get the Smash Ball's power by destroying it. ShinyRayquaza 04:51, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

But you said yourself that you still "get" it - even the image's caption on the dojo says "get". --FabuVinny T-C-S 19:15, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Missing Infobox Field

I've finished doing this for all of the other articles that include the Template:Infobox_game template, but the protection on this page keeps me from fully completing the task of putting in blank "release_date_kr" fields into game articles that have the infoboxes. Is it possible for a sysop to put that field in so that the template text doesn't stick out like a sore thumb? Thanks. --Shiningpikablu252 01:38, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Done. And I'm going to bring up whether this protection is a good idea on the forums. --FabuVinny T-C-S 01:53, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Not Hyper Beam

Lucario uses flash cannon not Hyper Beam For the finle smash. Cerberus 15:34, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

You know, I already said it herePokeManiac102 15:39, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
It's not Flash Cannon either. It's called "Wavestorm" in the data. --FabuVinny T-C-S 21:10, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
Is that a translation? What's the Japanese?--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 00:42, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
That's the romaji. --FabuVinny T-C-S 18:58, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
You mean the data calls it "wavestorm" in English? Okay. (If only we could find an actual mention of the name so we can use Japanese...)--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 03:39, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Says Flash Cannon at MariowikiPokeManiac102 03:41, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Wrong. They call it Focus Blast, and even then they say it's a made-up name ("Lucario using his Final Smash, possibly Focus Blast.")--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 04:22, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
I think the internal data and trophy description is more likely to be accurate than Mariowiki. --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:29, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I was proving that point to Pokemaniac102.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 04:24, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Spear Pillar Arceus

Apparently Arceus appears too. Here is what they've written on Smash Wiki:

After the first few seconds in battle, Dialga (common), Palkia (uncommon), Cresselia (rare), or Arceus(very rare) shows up in the background of the stage. The pokemon do different actions such as:

Dialga: Horizontal beam on the lower section, vertical beam covering 1/3 of the stage, Roar of Time (jumps into the stage and damages anyone near Dialga), break the middle part of the top level

Palkia: Same as Dialga, except uses Spacial Rend instead of Roar of Time.

Cresselia: Shoots a boomerang-like energy blade, which randomly goes around the stage, or uses Psycho Cut(shoots waves straight at the top platform).

Arceus: Same as Dialga and Palkia, and also uses Judgment(OHKO to anyone on the top platform).

*sigh* Big Johnno, Please wait till. March 9PokeManiac102 04:08, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Arceus, is not revealed yet. If they took out Darkrai and Shaymin in the final cut, why keep in Arceus? That'd be seriously screwed up if they did (....but for some reason they took out Cherrim too. Lol wtf.) Also, Pokemanic, people had hacked the game and they confirmed that indeed, Darkrai and Shaymin were taken out. Or so I heard. Tina 04:11, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
What game?PokeManiac102 04:18, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Brawl. People hacked the game and looked at what's inside and stuff. Darkrai and Shaymin have been removed (Along with Cherrim.), so the chances of Arceus is like... none. Tina 04:20, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
I won't believe that till March 9. By the way, Chúc Mừng Năm Mới! Do not ask what that means.PokeManiac102 04:22, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
It's true. People have hacked the Japanese game to confirm all of this crazy sh!t that pops up, and so on. Tina 04:24, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
I WILL NOT BELIEVE THAT D.MNED B.LLSH.T TILL MARCH 9. GOT IT? *calming down* anyway, again Chúc Mừng Năm Mới!PokeManiac102 04:28, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Then you're stupid because the game is out in Japan.
But I want to see evidence that Arceus is in. --FabuVinny T-C-S 13:05, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Wait, why on earth was Cherrim taken out???? --Theryguy512 15:34, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
No clue, but I read (on an unreliable source though) that Plusle and Minun were supposed to be playable >_< Midnight Celtic 00:53, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Wait, why on earth was Cherrim taken out???? That's what I'M wondering, right now. So.... apparently Cherrim is secretly a legendary and it's 'not revealed yet'. </sarcasm> Plusle and Minun, just like Mewtwo, are in the data, but didn't really cut it. Tina 00:56, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
If you use common sense, you will arrive at the simple conclusion that it was ultimately decided to ration the number of playable Pokémon characters and Poké Ball Pokémon, cutting the two numbers at 4 and 30, respectively - the same as in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Darkrai and Shaymin were the obvious candidates for omission, due to not being known to at least some sector of players. It also seems as if the emphasis was put on Generation II (9 Poké Ball characters) and Generation III Pokémon (10 Poké Ball characters), leaving Generation I with 6 characters and Generation IV with 5; also of note is the fact that the Poké Ball characters are equally divided between the first two generations and the latest two ones. Finally, Generation I and Generation IV are compensated by receiving near-exclusive focus in the field of playable and cameo characters. --Unown Lord 11:13, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
If you use common sense, you will arrive at the simple conclusion that these Pokémon were not in the game to begin with. See this post on Smash Boards for why. --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:05, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
If it falls under common sense to conclude that Shaymin, Darkrai and Cherrim were falsely stated to be sighted in the Whobby 2008 event, and on multiple occasions, then I wonder why it is that you were willing to give even a passing thought to the suggestion that Arceus is in the game based on one mere report. In fact, if it had been so logical, you would not have felt the need make your point by providing a link to a discussion that borders on being a debate, as though you were unearthing some hidden truth.
In order to know what was truly planned for the allegedly omitted Pokémon, either the data needs to be scrutinized (it seems that so far only the omitted playable characters have been traced by hackers) or the people who claimed to have seen them in the various events need to think it through once more. Will the answer make any difference? Not to me. As far as I am concerned, the Poké Ball roster might as well have turned out exactly as originally planned; my explanation remains valid in principle. My point is that under the assumption that some Pokémon characters were indeed removed, the reason behind that did not necessarily have to do with their special status (which is non-existent for anyone but Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus). --Unown Lord 19:02, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

10?

Should it be noted that this was the second game to get a perfect ten from Nintendo Power? Just curious 'cause I got my March NP in today. Just curious (28 days and counting until American release :D) Midnight Celtic 01:27, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

If it's noted that it was the seventh game scored perfectly from Famitsu, then I think it should be noted. (....that means it's so damn awesome. Why, Nintendo?! WHY?!) Tina 01:29, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
