A question...

Say you were to give a Light Ball to Raichu, or the Lucky Punch to Blissey. As they are evolved forms of the Pokémon those items are intended for, would they get the beneficial effects, too? --Turaga Dlakii 01:59, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Raichu does not gain the stat boosts, but I am unsure of the Lucky punchC is for Cookie 02:01, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Quick Powder

Are you sure that Quick Powder is in G/S/C? I always thought it was only in D/P. I've never heard of Quick Powder until Diamond and Pearl came out. Blaziken257 18:32, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Light Ball

I remember reading somewhere that the Light Ball affects Pichu as well as Pikachu. I don't remember at all where I read this, and I gotta know, is this true? I'm Missingno. Master. See my new and improved user page, and comment on it! 21:39, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

You can't get Light Ball from any wild Pikachu in FireRed/LeafGreen...

I captured around 50 Pikachus from both the Viridian Forest and the Power Plant but didn't find any one of them holding any item. No Light Ball and even Oran Berry.

Can you guys please edit this page as well as the held_items page to append the RSE signs on the Light Ball? I haven't done any editing yet so I don't know how this works. I've already confirmed this on other sites. Light Ball doesn't drop in FireRed/LeafGreen. - unsigned comment from StarMars (talkcontribs)

So there's this item...

So, um, 'some sources' call this item the "evolution stone" that ups Def and SD for "pre-evolved" pogeys. Sooo....no word on it? Or would it not be on this page? Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 23:28, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

It would go here... but I've never heard of it. (Which is probably because it's not on here.) —darklordtrom 23:30, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
It's called the Miracle of Evolution(しんかのきせき), sells for 100 yen, and has the descriptions:
しんかの ふしぎな かたまり。
もたせると しんかまえ ポケモンの
ぼうぎょと とくぼうが あがる。
進化の 不思議な かたまり。
持たせると 進化前 ポケモンの
防御と 特防が あがる。
A mysterious clump of evolution.
If it is held by a Pokémon that can evolve*,
it raises Defence and Sp. Def..
*=literally, 'If it is held by a Pokémon pre-evolution' but if I put that it reads like it raises the stats upon evolution to me, and I can't think of any other better phrasing...
I forget where you get it though. Bluesun 23:53, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
You find it in Hiun City, the furthest street away from the south entrance. I got it entering one of the buildings and talking to someone on the first floor. Yes, I'm the dork who still talks to people I can't understand. Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 23:55, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
Ah, right, I found him. The researcher in the northernmost building. I've already received it, but what he still says to me is: "The Miracle of Evolution is great! Wow! The defence and special defence of the Pokémon that holds it go up! ......but it only shows its effects on the pre-evolution* state of evolving Pokemon, it certainly is a mysterious thing." Soul Dew inaccurate info?

I posted this on the Soul Dew article long ago:

"The article says this item boosts Lati@s' Sp.Def and Sp.Atk by 50%... is that real? cause my brother got the Eon Ticket, caught Latios, and there seems not to be an offensive boost. Serebii says that Latios receives a boost in Sp.Def and Latias gets Sp.Atk, but even Latias doesn't seem to receive THAT boost (of 50%).

The questions are: Do they REALLY get a 50% boost in both Special stats? Where did that info come from? or maybe, does Latios only receive a 50% boost in Sp.Def and Latias in Sp.Atk?"

No one has seemed to respond... hfc2X 04:29, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Light ball

The item discreption for the light ball says that it doesn't appear in black and white, while there is dream world art. So does it or does it not appear in the dream world?- unsigned comment from Luxraychu (talkcontribs)

It doesn't, there is DW art for almost all items, just like there are sprites for say, Soul Dew despite it being unobtainable. Bluesun 18:02, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Trivia

Hey, since it's in the Valuable items trivia that the Rare Bone and the Thick Club share the same bag sprite, so why isn't it put in this article's Trivia. Is it Redundant? Or did someone forget to put it? --Skysong44 was here 23:14, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

Eviolite

Why isn't Eviolite considered a Stat-enhancing item? It should be listed here. --V4Victini (talk) 22:58, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

According to the definition on this page, "All of these are exclusively usable by only one or two related Pokémon." On the other hand, it would be nice to see this definition amended to make the page include all items that affect a particular subset of Pokémon but not others. That seems more like what was probably intended by whomever grouped together these items to make this page in the first place. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 23:13, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
Actually, that isn't part of the definition. It more seems to just be a statement, written after the definition.--Chris Broach (talk) 05:54, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
Well I'm going to move Eviolite over to this page. It shares a large number of qualities with these items.
It increases specific stats, is exclusive only to a select group of Pokemon (although the group is large), it's located at with these items at the same place in the damage formula, and it retains its effects through Transform. --V4Victini (talk) 11:55, 2 November 2012 (UTC)

Metal Powder in B2/W2?

There's no availability listed for it. Ditto's page says that there's a 5% chance of a wild one holding it, so I'm going to go ahead and add that it can be obtained from wild Ditto, but if Ditto's page is wrong, please correct it. - unsigned comment from WyndFox (talkcontribs)

King's Rock

Shouldn't it be included in this page? - Ericss (talk) 17:55, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

No. This page is for items that enhance a Pokemon's stats. Flinching is not a stat. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 18:22, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

Lucky Punch & Light Ball (again)

Has anyone found out definitively yet if either of these items has any effect on the other members of the users' respective evolutionary lines?

If Chansey were the only one who can benefit from Lucky Punch and she evolves via happiness, you'd have to abuse her constantly just to keep her from trying to evolve or else press cancel after every level-up, which gets old pretty quick. --GARY-DOS (talk) 22:29, 11 December 2014 (UTC)

Eviolite's Translation

Does the Eviolite have kanji for its Japanese name? Its Japanese name is based on the word, "奇跡" ("miracle"), which is pronounced "kiseki," but there's wordplay involved here because "seki" is also the pronunciation for the Japanese word for, "stone." At the very least, the translated name should be, "Miraculous Stone of Evolution." Hydroxybutyric (talk) 17:33, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

To answer your question, there is no kanji programmed into the games for this item. I will leave it to a more proficient JPN speaker to deal with the article itself. Chenzw (talk) 15:56, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
Also worth noting is that the Trivia section does point out the miracle/stone pun. Maybe it could stand to be more prominent, but at least it already exists somewhere. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 16:05, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
So is this going to be changed? "Kiseki" is not a valid pronunciation for any Japanese word that means, "stone." Quite likely, it is a portmanteau of "miracle" and "stone," so both words should be part of the translated name. Hydroxybutyric (talk) 01:11, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
奇石, 貴石, take your pick. Neither is perfect, but they're pretty much reasonable. Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:44, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
If it had kanji, it'd most likely be the former. "Strange stone" is probably the intended translation, then. Hydroxybutyric (talk) 02:35, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
