::::Another example: Take a look at Vaporeon and Jolteon.  Obviously their signature moves are Acid Armor and Pin Missile, respectively, as confirmed by their Pokédex entries.  However, even in Gen I, Grimer and Muk were able to learn Acid Armor as well, and Beedrill was able to learn Pin Missile.
