New Event

There's a new Shaymin event from some time this month until November (2009), for everyone who owns Platinum. - unsigned comment from Mattiuscn (talkcontribs)

Wonder Cards?

Whats a Wonder Card?I need to know because these's a shaymin event on the 18/04/09 which is TOMORROW!!!Please could someone tell me!I picked shaymin's talk page because the event is about it!Mglitch 21:40, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

They're downloaded along with whatever Mystery Gift you're doing. The game will only save 3 cards (I think) at a time. Deleting a Wonder Card doesn't affect the gift itself, and since you apparently have not used Mystery Gift ever, it won't make a difference, so don't sweat it.—Loveはドコ? Search function FTW. --Jonouchi 02:01, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Why's the sky forme official art in the infobox?

Isn't the land forme official art better to put in the infobox? I think so because the land forme is more the original/real forme, Because when you catch shaymin it's land forme, and when sky forme is frozen ar whe'n it's night it also reverts back. Mijzelffan 18:35, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

It's timed. Wait until it's past 8 PM UTC. TTEchidna 18:55, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
well, it's after 8 p.m. utc now, and the infobox still contains the sky forme image.Mijzelffan 20:10, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
The page is cached. When it clears, Shaymin changes Forme. IT'S JUST LIKE THE GAMES. TTEchidna 01:56, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Forme change

will any shaymin change forme if transfered to Platinum and the Gracidea is used? or will only the event shaymin do this? ŚĥîΠŶPî₭₳ĉĥŭ 19:00, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Only the event one. WHICH I GOT MUAHAHA |3urn 57R1K3 19:09, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
You seem confused. Only the event Shaymin lets the woman give you the Gracidea. Any Shaymin can use it to transform. Missingno. Master wants YOU! Join the Order of the Glitch! (my talk page) 19:41, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
Not according to the trivia!
"Only Shaymin that show the text 'Fateful encounter' can change form. This means Shaymin caught in Diamond and Pearl and traded into Platinum can not change their form." Is this true? ShinyPika 19:06, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

Shaymin in the anime

Is this picture from the movie?--tobytse 04:02, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Of course. TTEchidna 07:05, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

Sky form TMs

Does Shaymin's TM/HM set change in sky form? I am going to get Platinum soon, so I want to know if Sky Forme has any extra moves to trade over to DP. --Alphateam7911 20:01, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Nope. —darklordtrom 20:05, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Lum berry

In diamond it holds a lum berry when in the wild. I don't know how often, but someone should look in to this. WaterUser (page, talk)

Artwork change

I know the artwork is supposed to change based on what time it is, but right now I'm seeing a link to File:492Shaymin.png when really there should either be a land or sky after it. Is this intentional or some kind of mistake? I've cleared my cache several times already. Jello 04:12, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

It appears to be an oversight in the template itself. The image parameter has been commented out, and replaced with the Ndex number followed by the name of the Pokémon, which is where most of them are. This means that a similar glitch will appear on all/most of the pages which are set to change the form displayed based on time. As it is such an important template it is protected, so can an admin please add an optional parameter to modify the image name for pages such as this? Werdnae (talk) 04:45, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Heartgold

Heard a rumour it can be causght here. This true? SpecialK Leiks Lucario and The Celebi Glitch 17:45, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

...no. Not at all. ▫▪Ťïňắ 18:01, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

In regards to Evolutionary Capacity

Shaymin is currently the very first Pokémon that can Evolve and Devolve at will. I'll go ahead and put this in the Trivia if it's significant. --Arima 05:20, 1 March 2010 (UTC)

Since when does Shaymin "evolve"? ht14 05:23, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
That's not evolution. That's form change. And Deoxys and Giratina join it in that capacity. TTEchidna 05:24, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Heh... My mistake. ^^; I actually confused Form Changing as Evolution. --Arima 05:26, 1 March 2010 (UTC)
Even then, it isn't "at will", it needs the Gracidea flower to transform; and to "detransform" it needs to be cold or it needs to be night time! -- Zoroark!!! Landfish7 16:23, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Sky Forme trading

What would happen if you traded Sky Forme Shaymin? Would he change his form into Land Forme? Or does it depends on which game you are trading him into? --TakeruDavis[1] 18:46, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

I'd say it depend on if the conditions are right once you trade! I will say you can't trade Sky-Forme from Platinum to Diamond or Pearl, it'll just turn back to regular form because Sky-Forme is exclusive to Platinum, HG/SS. Catch my drift? --Landfish7 18:52, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Level Up moves

Sky Forme Shaymin's Level Up Move section has "none" in the other generations section. Obviously it is a 4th gen pokmeon, so it should link to its gen 4 learn set. I would change this myself, but I can't figure out how. jas61292 17:18, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Fixed. Werdnae (talk) 18:35, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Dream World

I do apologies if I'm using the discussion area incorrectly, but how do you use Sky Forme Shaymin in the Dream World? Theres art work of it, yet little other info on it. It still reverts back to land if placed in a box, and there's no Gracidea item listed in the dream world. Does anyone have info on this? - unsigned comment from Clow (talkcontribs)

Trivia

"Shaymin is tied with Celebi for highest base stat total of all Grass-type Pokémon." - Just to clarify, Mega Evolutions don't count towards base stat totals? Scribbl 11:29, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

They do, nobody happened to check this until now. glikglak 12:14, 7 February 2015 (UTC)

Battle with Sky Shaymin and DP as opponent

Short question.

Does anyone know what Happens when you go into a battle with a sky shaymin against a D/P player which iirc obviously doesnt know Sky Shaymin. does it change back, or is it just displayed as normal (although the latter is hardly possible because if the different typing of the Forms.)

My1 17:26, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Why isn't it mentioned that depositing Shaymin reverts to Land forme?

I was going to add it, but the article says not to expand, even though it's the last circumstance that reverts it. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 01:56, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

Tiddlywinks explained their reasoning in their edit summaries. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 02:03, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
So basically, 1 more reason (the last reason) is too much? Or am I misunderstanding? ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 02:20, 15 October 2017 (UTC)
For a variety of reasons, I'm really not a big fan of the current state, i.e. basically having an open list, and then telling editors not to specify/complete it. As it stands, I'd probably prefer the original wording with all the details (I believe all info about Shaymin and its forms should be here, not require readers to browse the formes page), but I guess I could be okay with something like this as well. Nescientist (talk) 15:42, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
As a thought exercise, let's just say that the games create (or created) some form and then somehow changed some finicky case like this in every game. Would the resulting huge list of details really belong in the intro?
IMO, the list of cases in that "last" reason is basically that bad.
I think it's just fine. Shaymin reverting at night is canonical, noting it is important. Freezing is too. By contrast, depositing Shaymin is pretty specific game mechanics. For freezing, you could also say that you don't want to be surprised during battle when Shaymin reverts. By contrast, there's basically no way you're going to be hurt if you deposit or withdraw Shaymin and it changes form; there's no urgency there, nothing that can't be fixed simply enough if you somehow need to. It's good enough, so long as we lack a simple/acceptable way to compress all that stuff. Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:50, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
In my opinion, no, but so what? I didn't suggest that. (And if there's a bazillion possibilities, it could go under "Evolution" in my opinion, as I think I've seen it somewhere else I cannot find.) IMO the list isn't as bad (and it should be on this page in its entirety), but that's not my main point, and I said I would be okay with somethings that's not exhaustive.
My main point is that it's misleading to have this enumeration be intentionally incomplete/open (on this page). Nescientist (talk) 19:17, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
Perhaps not an elegant solution but hopefully at least a better one than the current situation: What if we enumerate, specifically, the list of what does and doesn't cause a form change somewhere directly linkable (perhaps a subsection of Shaymin's section on List of form differences? if not a subsection, then at least a paragraph with an anchor on it, so we can link straight to it) and then link the words "other circumstances may cause it to revert" to that specific place? That way it should be amply clear to readers that if they want to know what "other circumstances" means, they can click there to find out. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 19:27, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
There is nothing misleading when it explicitly says that there "other circumstances". You can argue whether it's easy to figure out where the "other" is detailed, but it's certainly not "misleading".
Linking the "other circumstances" bit sounds like something I may have thought of, and if I refrained it probably would have been because, as a rule, we don't repeat links. I'm not really against it, though. (I may have also thought it would just get removed. If a few other people have already figured that it's a good idea, then perhaps that won't be such a hassle.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 19:37, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
I don't mean misleading as in "it's not correct", but as in "readers may think we do not know/care/etc.". Nescientist (talk) 19:43, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Romanization

Shaymin can't be the romanization of シェイミ. It doesn't matter what some merchandise say.--Martianmister (talk) 14:16, 26 April 2019 (UTC)

Does Shaymin always revert to Land Forme in the Eternal Battle Reverine?

I brought a Sky Forme Shaymin to the Eternal Battle Reverine, and it changed to Land Forme as soon as I sent it out. I'm pretty sure it was daylight when I sent it out, but IDK if the time changed to night while I was in there or if it's just a result of the EBR. I'd like to mention it in the article, but first I want a sure answer. Does anyone know? ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 06:01, 8 December 2023 (UTC)

How does Shaymin's Forme change work in Super Mystery Dungeon?

Is it random per floor, or is some other method required for obtaining Sky Forme? --CuteShaymin (talk) 19:17, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
