Pearl counterpart?

It states that scyther is a diamond only pokemon, but what is it's 'pearl counterpart'? GoldHusky2009 11:55, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

looks like its wearing a Jacket

Should there be some mention in the Physiology section about how it looks like it has a open jacket on? The pictures on the article do little to show it, except tracy's Scyher. Here are some images I found. Some anime and non anime depictions of Scyther. You can clearly see a collar like a jacket has, and at different angles it appears like its chest has a green jacket wrapped around it. So should this be mentioned, discussed or what? I won't put this in the article unless it seems like a viable addition.

Sprites

Is there a reason that there are two of each of the fourth generation sprites? Moltres93 06:16, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Scyther have gender differences. The first and thrird row of sprites are the male sprites and the second and fourth row are the female sprites. Werdnae (talk) 06:42, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh I see. I wonder if it would be a good idea to label them male and female since the differences are very small, and also so people can tell which is which? Just a suggestion. Moltres93 00:30, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Trivia / Gen 2 Learnset Incorrect

There is a trivia line that read 'Before Generation II, Scyther could not learn any Bug-type moves by level-up'.

I've checked the Generation II movelist and there are no Bug moves. I'm going to assume that this was a typo and correct it to read 'Generation III' (where Scyther learns Fury Cutter by level-up).

If it was the movelist which was in error, and Scyther actually learns Fury Cutter in Gen II, please add it to the movelist when reverting the trivia. - unsigned comment from Betawolf33 (talkcontribs)

crystal shiny sprite

Is Scyther the only Pokémon with different sprites for his normal and shiny sprites?--Jachi 14:41, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure it's just a case of one of them facing the wrong way. --SnorlaxMonster 15:12, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
For some reason, some of our Crystal sprites were flipped before they were uploaded. If you know how to fix that, you are welcome to. Werdnae (talk) 03:51, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

TM.62 Silver Wind

I lack the skills to add it myself but Scyther is able to use this TM (as well as from breeding as stated) - unsigned comment from Gehraz (talkcontribs)

Clarification?

in the conquest section, to evolve, it is required to "beat a warrior adequately. what does this mean? Fudgedara (talk) 21:06, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Wrong Ability

For some reason scyther's hidden ability is currently listed as Cacophony and is not marked as a hidden ability. This is clearly wrong. However when I try to go change it, the code says Steadfast, which is correct. I'm fairly new to editing this type of site, so I'm not sure how to go about fixing this. On origin section...

It seems that Scyther might be actually based off a specific variant of kamaitachi, [1]

"In East Japan, they are also said to be the work of a mantis or longhorn beetle's ghost.[8] In the town of Katakai, Santō District, Niigata Prefecture, in a place called "Kamakiri-zaka" (鎌切坂 or 蟷螂坂), after a giant mantis that once lived there was crushed to death by heavy snow, it is said that when one falls over on the hill, because of the mantis' curse, one would receive a would as if one was cut by a sickle, result in one suffering from black blood flowing out.[3][9]" Trainer Yusuf (talk) 16:06, 16 February 2016 (UTC)

Goh's Scizor

Has anyone added that Goh's Scyther evolved in JN056? If not, I'll do it myself! Hello, it's me, GalarChamp Cinderace! (talk) 18:23, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

Since it evolved into Scizor, it's no longer relevant on Scyther's species page.--Rocket Grunt 18:30, 23 March 2021 (UTC)

"In Hisui"

Does the intro really need to specify that Scyther evolves into Kleavor in Hisui? It's not a regional evolution.- totally signed comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 00:55, 1 October 2022 (UTC)

Given the current fracturing of the nat dex (how it's no longer assumed all pokemon will have existing data in games) and the unknown space of the Legends series' affect on traditional main games, the return of the forms or evolutions that debuted isn't entirely certain. Once Kleavor or any of the other LA evos debut in another mainline game, 'in Hisui' will be removed from the prevos of those that have returned, and the line will be restructured to incorporate it properly. If Kleavor et al are never seen again, the distinction going forward must be made while continued to not be entirely ruled out in the future. It's simply being properly informative.
Or read as: yes, it does, right up until it does not. Kai * the Arc Toraph 17:59, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
I think this is much simpler case. Scyther evolves into Kleavor through Black Augurite. Writing additional condition "in Hisui" imply it would not evolve with this item outside of Hisui, with is wrong. Poliwhirl is a good example how it could be written.--Rocket Grunt 20:17, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
Yeah, the way it's said now makes it seem as though there's a regional form involved or something. If they aren't gonna include Kleavor in the future, then they aren't gonna include the item which exists solely to evolve it either. - totally signed comment from Missingno.
