:The biggest difference I can find is the turn order clause--if one Pokémon on your team uses Canon and you have your other Pokémon queued up to use it as well, the slower Pokémon will go after the fastest Pokémon on your side regardless of turn order. This means it should ignore statuses like paralysis and Trick Room, which change speed or turn order, respectively.
