Why did the design change? I've gotta admit, even though I like Charizard, I like the older design better... :::Umm... i think it's more of due to iin R/B/Y and the remakes, there was a Pokemaniac in the Rock Tunnel who talks about Pokemon Cosplay (only in the remakes, in RBY he calls it Costume Play). So maybe they changed it after that part, to make it more fit? I dunno, ever since i saw that cosplay part, i wondered why he wasn't in costume. Lol. Now he is! Their HGSS design doesn't resemble Charizard, they seem more like green Rhydons. The " In Generation III, they were changed so that they became cosplayers dressing up in Charizard costumes." line doesn't apply to them anymore. Should someone add a line concerning that? In the Generation I to III games, this Trainer class is formatted "POKéMANIAC". We currently display this in CamelCase as "PokéManiac" (since we usually do not preserve ALLCAPS for Gen 1-3 keywords, unless they are initialisms). However, the class is formatted "Pokémaniac" (with a lowercase "m") in [[Pokémon: Official Nintendo Player's Guide|Nintendo Power's RB guide]] (p. 26), [[Pokémon Red and Blue: Prima's Official Strategy Guide|Prima's RB guide]] (p. 33), [[Official Pokémon Special Pikachu Edition Perfect Guide|VersusBooks' RBY guide]] (p. 29), [[Pokémon: Special Edition for Yellow, Red and Blue: Official Nintendo Player's Guide|Nintendo Power's RBY guide]] (p. 24), and [[Pokémon Gold & Silver: Prima's Official Strategy Guide|Prima's GS guide]] (p. 43). I have not found any instances in which it is displayed in CamelCase. :Thanks for checking those guidebooks. It appears we should display it as "Pokémaniac" for those first generations, right? Yes, this seems like a "Pokéfan" situation, not to mention that we also have "Pokédex" instead of "PokéDex" (which was displayed as "POKéDEX" back then).
