I was working on my starter breeding grounds and once I got 4 females out of 20, and another time I got none. It's probability, it only tells you what you'll ''probably'' get. Reading the Trivia section I came across this - "Omanyte is one of 5 Kanto Pokémon that had its base experience yield changed in Generation III. Its former base experience was ?."

Omanyte is catchable in Pokemon Sword from Max Raid Battles in Giant's Seat B, Hammerlock Hills G, and West Lake Axewll A or B or C (forgot which den it was).
