Cheryl's Mothim

Is it okay if I make a Cheryl's Mothim page? --Theryguy512 13:03, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

I wouldn't risk it. For one, Cheryl's not an important-enough character in the franchise to get a specific Pokémon article. For two, a Cheryl's Pokémon template would be murder to create! We'd have to include all of the Pokémon she's had over every medium--and when there's a large assortment of Battle Tower Pokémon to include, that's a lot! --Shiningpikablu252 14:09, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Don't make it now. Maybe later if she ever reappears in the anime... maybe. TTEchidna 01:34, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
But it has appeared for three episodes of the anime.................--Theryguy512 01:46, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Threre episodes is puny...Cheryl is a bit like the Character of the Day, you know (Although I wonder why they include articles on Gym Leader's Pokémon, after all, they too are characters of the day.) Agent 448δ | DP 01:47, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Trivia

It says that Mothim is the one of the only pokémon that is related to another with form differences. Shouldn't it have a sub-header that says it is the only one that is the evolved form of a pokémon with form differences? - unsigned comment from Joshsauce (talkcontribs)

Design basis related trivia mistake.

The Trivia section states, that of the four moth-based Pokémon, it is the only one which is part Flying-type. Then it mentions that Masquerain could be also based on a moth. However, it is clear that Masquerain at least draws inspiration from moths, as it's japanese Name is アメモース (Amemoth), making this section pointless.

Point acknowledged. I very much agree with you. I'm going to remove that piece of trivia because that second point just makes the whole point untrue. --Pokemaster97 20:12, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Physiology

Though it's primarily based on bagworm moths, I feel that Mothim's wings may draw more inspiration from related casebearer moths given the long, narrow shape of its forewings and the fringed edges. The colors also resemble the fiery sheen on some of these species, whereas bagworm moths usually have dull wings. Icycatelf (talk) 15:58, 16 June 2019 (UTC)
