I have here the English translations of the Memory Link image from the English Version. I'm sorry for the visual aides because I don't know how to put them here but I put up links. Source: Pokemon.com/BlackWhite2 -PKMNFan21597 (talk) 08:16, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

The Striaton Gym Leaders - Flashback

Trivia?

Do we really need the trivia? All it says is that we may need to complete the story in B/W before we can see some of them. I think we should just put it in the main article, but thats just me. ShinyMew9001 (talk) 16:45, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

I agree with you. Not to mention that it's not very trivial to begin with. It's a fact that should be included in the main article. --Pokemaster97 16:48, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Question

There's something that's been bugging me. I looked through the article, but I couldn't find anything to clarify. Anyway, if someone got Pokemon White, for example, and decided to get Black 2, would they still be able to do the Memory Link? Kyro-Dizzy (talk) 17:58, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

  • To answer your question, yes. You can use your Pokemon White game to activate Memory Link features in Pokemon Black 2. Zorocario (talk) 02:55, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

So...

If I don't have friends with DS, I have to have two different Nintendo DSs in order to activate the Memory Link? --Gabo 2oo (talk) 16:03, 28 September 2012 (UTC)

Do they still stay on Black or White

when you use memory link do the props from black & white stay on those games & copied to the new games or are they permanently transferred to black & white 2?AshKetchumNo.1 (talk) 12:02, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

  • Memory link isn't an actual transfer, the BW1 savegame stays as is, you keep everything in the BW1 game (anaewring just because I saw this and maybe someoen had the same question). Suloku (talk) 06:25, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

Activating Memory Link

It may be worth noting somewhere when you can activate Memory Link. Does it happen when you begin a new save file, or at any point? Many games with similar features will only allow you to link save files when you start a new game.—urutapu (talk) 02:05, 14 October 2012 (UTC)

  • I've just tested it. I didn't have access to a second DS to activate memory link until I'd finished the main story of Black2, but now I have a second DS I've been able to memory link. It didn't require me to start over, and there were no warnings or anything that came up when I linked. Nothing I can see on my game has been changed, other than the events directly linked to memory link scenes. So it seems you can do it at any time without worry. - Stuw23 (talk) 19:30, 07 November 2012 (UTC)

Flashback pictures

This is just my opinion, but I believe that every flashback mentioned should have its own picture for reference purposes. This is just me though. Zorocario (talk) 04:03, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

A New Light

The Memory for a New Light says that it is located inside the Gym, however when i beat Drayden in Black2 he isn't inside it. I triggered the memory after beating the E4 and Champion, where i found him outside his house. Could this be an alternate placing or has anyone else actually had triggered the memory inside the gym? Split

Should each flashback be made into their own articles? --Abcboy (talk) 02:57, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

  • No. The flashbacks aren't all that important to have their own article, so they should just stay in the Memory Link page. Zorocario (talk) 23:27, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
Are the quotes important enough to be placed in order here? --Abcboy (talk) 01:46, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Just once?

The article doesn't mention if the Memory Link is somehting done only once or regularly to a same game card. Which of the options is correct? Because if someone didn't complete the Pokédex in the former game, so it can't be able to see the diploma in the old bedroom. If someone didn't collect all of the Props, then, they must be collected the old way around. Could someone answer me?--Igor (talk) 14:39, 19 January 2013 (UTC)

  • You can connect multiple times to unlock new content, but once you connect to a BW1 game, you can only link with that specific savegame. Suloku (talk) 06:23, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

Trivia Section

The trivia section refers to the song played during flashbacks as An Unwavering Heart, but wasn't in known as Emotion prior to Generation VI? MaddoxTheMudkip (talk) 01:53, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

In the article for the Black and White Super Music Collection, which I think uses the official localised names from that release, it's called An Unwavering Heart. --Felthry (F.K.A. Xolroc) (talk) 02:25, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
Just checked, and you're right. Thank you! MaddoxTheMudkip (talk) 21:14, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

White and Black errors

There are multiple grammatical errors in the current transcription of the "White and Black" flashback, specifically in N's long monologue at the end: "It lived long and known many people." "More than anything, I can hear their joy that they me people who need them!"

Since I don't have a copy of either of the relevant games, can anyone confirm if these errors are present in the original text, or if not, correct them?

Additionally, the monologue makes reference to the Legendary Dragon helping "the one who searches for truth... the one who opens the way to the future." Is this dialogue consistent, or does it vary depending on which game is being played, and/or which game was connected to via Memory Link?

Bananatron (talk) 05:55, 21 April 2024 (UTC)

I replaced the existing transcript with a copy directly from the text dump, to fix any existing errors (there were a few). Interestingly, there's two copies of this section of dialogue from N:
  • The legendary Dragon-type Pokémon knew that. It has lived long and known many people. It knew humans and Pokémon have lived and will live together. It knew that in this relationship, humans' actions have an enormous impact on Pokémon. That's why it helps the one who searches for truth... the one who opens the way to the future.
But they are both identical, so there ends up being no version differences. Minibug (talk) 09:09, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
