Yeah someone can add all those we have confirmed. TTEchidna 09:30, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Complete, though I broke it down into sections.--ForceFire 09:49, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

New number confirmations

Please place a source for confirmations here, following the examples:

  • I would also like to make a suggestion that the exact time in the video should be posted as well to identify where the source is so that it would help for other people like myself to be able to confirm these details since I also plan to look at the videos. -Tyler53841 08:15, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Sentret, Rattata, Caterpie, Zubat, Geodude

Source #2 New numbers: Rattata # 017 & Sentret # 019 & Caterpie # 024 @ 7'06", Geodude #034 & Zubat #37 @ 7'07"

GET ON IT :D --Aniny 01:53, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Well just after the beginning of the 7:00 of the video is when this source takes place and I can make out Sentret but some are hard to see because the numbers and pictures are small but I'd like a second opinion. -Tyler53841 04:57, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Pikachu, Steelix, Snubbull, Teddiursa

Source #1

New numbers: Pikachu #022, Steelix #063, Snubbull #125 Obviously, you can add in their related species from there. --Aniny 19:09, 6 August 2009

There's a mistake with Pikachu and evos in the list, Pikachu is #022 and the list says Pichu is #022. --Shadow ... 22:54, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Source #2

Number for Teddiursa has changed. Teddiursa is #198 as opposed to #193 in the originals. Stop the video at 2:06 to see Teddiursa's Pokedex number. --Dialgafan1 01:52, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Your link doesn't work (at least for me), but it is indeed 198 Source #2.1--Saiph charon 01:10, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Confirmed it too with Saiph charon's link. The source can be found right about at the end of the video right after the player catches Teddiursa. -Tyler53841 04:07, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Using information from source #1, Pikachu's Johto Pokedex number is #22 not #23. The page has Pichu listed as #22, Pikachu as #23, and Raichu as #24 where it should be Pichu as #21, Pikachu as #22, and Raichu as #23. --Dialgafan1 17:04, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

He's right, the information is within the first six seconds of the video and it is tricky to see but if you look at the bottom screen of the DS within the 6th second it is confirmed that Pikachu is #22 in the Johto Dex. -Tyler53841 17:47, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Pichu, Pikachu & Raichu are all still listed incorrectly, TTEchidna.--Aniny 04:39, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

All have been now added to the NeoJDex. TTEchidna 05:47, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Other Pokemon

Have any of these Pokemon been excluded from the game as I haven't seen them with the other Pokemon whose Pokedex numbers are yet to be confirmed:

  • Magnemite
  • Magneton
  • Magnezone
  • Farfetch’d
  • Doduo
  • Dodrio
  • Seel
  • Dewgong
  • Grimer
  • Muk
  • Shellder
  • Cloyster
  • Gastly
  • Haunter
  • Gengar
  • Onix
  • Steelix
  • Drowzee
  • Hypno
  • Krabby
  • Kingler
  • Voltorb
  • Electrode
  • Exeggcute
  • Exeggutor
  • Cubone
  • Marowak

Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Onix, and Steelix are in the confirmed section of the Dex. And no these Pokemon have not been excluded as far as we know but I don't know why they haven't been put in the unconfirmed section of the Dex. It's probably because all those Pokemon are solely Generation I Pokemon with no later Generation relative in their evolutionary line . --Dialgafan1 15:20, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Attention guys

It's the five move-evolvers. Snubbull differs by 2, since only Yanma and Aipom come before it, requiring Yanmega and Ambipom, and by Teddiursa, Lickitung, Tangela, and Piloswine are there, requiring Lickilicky, Tangrowth, and Mamoswine.

The other Gen III/IV prevos and evos don't get in because the incense and their evolution activators (usually items) can be restricted to Kanto or other post-national areas. TTEchidna 01:38, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

While this remains unconfirmed about the move-evolvers, I must complement you about putting in those details about evolution restrictions into the article, especially since I was thinking the same thing from the start. But anyway if there is ever any more Johto Dex details revealed before the game releases then I will certainly confirm it myself to help make sure it is correct. -Tyler53841 02:01, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

A Question

Unless I'm missing something, wouldn't this overwrite the original Johto Dex, so what if someone wants to look at the original Johto Dex, how are they going to see it, or even if they want to look at the differences between the two Wouldn't it be better to have 2 "List of Pokemon by Pokedex Number" one for 2nd gen and one for 4th gen? But again I could be missing something. --Dman dustin 22:46, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Never mind, saw the top of the page --Dman dustin 22:47, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Other Pokémon

A couple of Pokémon that I've come across in the game so far that have been "unsourced" for the time being:

No.056 Wooper No.095 Nidoran F No.098 Nidoran M No.127 Vulpix

Safe to say their evolutions would also be in their logical areas, as well. TheChrisD RantsEdits 21:17, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

What's in my Pokedex so far (in the actual game) that is not listed yet: 30 Ledyba

32 Spinarak

48 Sandshrew

56 Wooper

61 Unown

67 Hoppip

70 Paras

72 Poliwag (obviously all 4 stages with Politoed at 75)

76 Magikarp

78 Goldeen

80 Slowpoke

83 Oddish

95 Nidoran f

98 Nidoran m

111 Scyther

115 Koffing

127 Vulpix

129 Growlithe

140 Psyduck

142 Machop

231 Bulbasaur --Saiph charon 00:07, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

If they have those Pokedex numbers in the game, shouldn't they be added to the Johto Dex? Kangaflora 14:42, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, but sadly it's locked so that only admins can edit them in. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 14:46, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
Hence the adding of them to the talk page so that admins can ignore us and add in more "cool" and important Pokémon like Celebi, while we sit here seething at how the dictatorship is probably preventing more useful information from being added than stopping idiots adding crap. TheChrisD RantsEdits 17:35, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Listing Complete

Serebii.net has completed their listing for the Johto Pokédex at [1]. After doing an analysis I confirmed that other than the return of all the Pokémon from the original Generation II dex, the only Generation IV Pokémon to be included in the HG and SS dex are all the ones related to Move-based evolution such as Ambipom, Mamoswine, and Yanmega, but not including Mime Jr. or Bonsly. -Tyler53841 18:19, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

I wonder if they did it just to make it an even 256 (2^8). - MK (t/c) 00:05, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Pokemon Info boxes

So now that we have new numbers, are we replacing the GSC pokedex numbers in the info boxes with these or are we keeping both? Jmvb 21:39, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

You could use one of those * things to make it say "number ### in Generation II". Like the thing that says "Not shown in pokedex" on the Hoenn ones (don't know the proper name for it) Jmvb 21:41, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
All done. Don't worry. TTEchidna 04:45, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Don't need to worry Jmvb, since I took care of most of the remainder of the work for the re-numbering on Saturday for the individual Pokémon pages that required it for nearly 4 hours and then let other people took care of the rest of the stuff I couldn't do on my own and it is truly complete. I also made sure to open extra tabs for the New and Johto Dexes, and did careful conformation checks before submitting to avoid causing mistakes in this serious work. -Tyler53841 04:54, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Quick Question

I was reading this page and got a little confused. When we play D/P/Pt are we automaticly allowed to trade to HG/SS or do we have to wait until certain conditions are met as in FR/LG?Zabbethx 17:11, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

In HGSS you can send Pokémon to Sinnoh automatically. I imagine it goes both ways but no confirmation of this has been published, as far as I'm aware. —darklordtrom 20:57, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
What if bonsly was traded to HGSS? Wouln't it work? SpecialK Leiks Lucario and The Celebi Glitch 17:57, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm sure you could. You can trade Venusaur into DPPt before going to Jubilife. —darklordtrom 09:10, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Phew. I nearly panicked when i saw i might not be able to trade me beloved Kricketune to HGSS. SpecialK Leiks Lucario and The Celebi Glitch 13:53, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

question

is it possible to give items such as dusk stone and incense to pokemon and trade them to hgss before getting the national pokedex? if yes, then we should be able to accquire pokemon such as Honchkrow and other baby pokemon before the national pokedex but they are not added into the list?
