Is it worth listing the release information for the Viz 2nd edition? Zesty Cactus 18:47, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Volume 8

Can someone add the release date for the US edition of Volume 8 (August 3, 2010)? I've been trying to fiddle with it but just can't seem to get it. --HoennMaster 05:00, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

That big blue area in the column was what was probably messing you up. I've went ahead and added the listing.
Speaking of that big blue area in the column, now that volume 8 is finally making its way to America, is it really a good idea to keep it around? I think it might take an announcement for volume 9 or 10 for a consensus to really develop; if we get to an announcement for volume 11, I'd be for ditching big blue entirely by then...--Shiningpikablu252 05:09, 18 December 2009 (UTC)

Chuang Yi

Chuang Yi's covers should be shown in addition to the covers for Viz's (lower quality) releases. --Shiny Noctowl 21:02, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Maybe, but there's also a thing of using too much images and lower-quality? --CoolPikachu! 21:05, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Viz's version is lower quality because of the various translation mistakes. In their first new volume, they've already screwed up an easily translatable pun. --Shiny Noctowl 21:07, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, don't bring your hatred of VIZ's translation here. Both of them are good translations. --CoolPikachu! 21:08, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
If they weren't all "OMG JUS COPYY TEH GAMEZ !!!!!!1!!111" they could have done something similar to what Chuang Yi did in that scene. How many American kids do you think will know what "Nanyanen" means? --Shiny Noctowl 21:11, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, this is forums discussion. Anyways, I'll try to add the Japanese and English covers. --CoolPikachu! 21:14, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Missing Viz Releases

The Viz releases I added have been on the vizkids website for a good while now. Viz pre-allocated a release schedule and ISBNs for everything up to volume 29, they're just not linked from the series list. They're also on the Viz main site, but lack any of the release info. Just increase the product ids in the URL for their releases, and you will usually find the latest ones they've planned eg.:

I've asked around the various Pokemon forums. Those are not proof at all. I say wait until they are officially revealed. Ataro 05:40, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
Yes, that's not really taking part in discussion, you took it elsewhere. And it matters not what random people in random forusm think.
They are listed on the official website. The volvumes are never officially revealed on time, or announced. Some are added late to the Viz website, long after their unofficial reveal/release, and some are added long before. In the case of Volume 1-14, this was added long ago and proved 100% correct. 15-29 was added around the same time the D/P/P series was announced, and it's no coincidence that the release schedule for it stops at the last volume before D/P/P showing a clear intent to release up to that point. This is official, and it's revealed in the same poor manner all Viz releases are. I've yet to read a single valid argument against it from you. --Zeal T / C 11:28, 24 November 2011 (UTC)
Unfortunately, though, they are not even listed as clickable links on the website (is my understanding). For the longest time Arceus and the Jewel of Life (graphic novel) was listed on the VIZ.com website, with an ISBN, but no release date and it was eventually cancelled. Unfortunately, I need more information on the releases before I can accept them as official. Are these only listed hidden on the VIZKids website (I usually go by VIZ.com if anything) or are they actually shown anywhere else, like a third party such as Amazon or Barnes and Noble, etc? Plus, there is no cover artwork...
I wish VIZ would release the R&S chapter as much as the next guy, but i need more proof before i can add things like this to the wiki. Also note #15 has an October release date...if that was official, wouldn't it be out yet? --ZestyCactus 21:13, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
It's not really speculative at all, it just shows the planned release schedule and ISBN numbers, and that is fact. Clearly the release schedule they planned has changed, and I make no claims as to wether or not Viz will even release them, because as with anything, future release schedules can change, and things can get cancelled. This is likely what has happened, but it doesn't mean the ISBN numbers can not be used later and as far as i know, there is no requirement or implication that volumes listed here are released or 100% will be, only that a publisher plans to release them. It's not like this is some fake rumor, this is simply Viz showing they intend/intended to release them, and unless otherwise stated, they will at some point. They are on the normal Viz website, but without any info (invalid product codes take you to the home page, while valid hidden ones load the product page, but the info likely isn't on them yet, is the case with these). The date for release is official, but things change, and Viz are terrible at keeping their website working (let alone up to date). The B/W series listing doesn't even exist on their site, you have to find the indivual issues yourself or through their news, and many of the older olvumes and current, don't even have their cover artwork uploaded until after it appears elsewhere, and sometimes even after release. So again, I've yet to see any real argument against this. If this list is to require secondary sources eg. amazon as proof of existance, then just state as much, otherwise it's as official as any Viz release can ever get before it appears elsewhere, so just because apprently the community didn't realise they were already planned for release a while back, and the current community thinking is that those chapters won't to be released anytime soon, doesn't mean the ooopinions of the community has any say in the matter. --Zeal T / C 21:52, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
