Image

Okay, the image here is wack. It does not show the southern boundary (from my recollection, a wall of trees), and it doesn't show the location of the berry tree. That's on top of the fact that it's a Gen. II image when the route's been in a Gen. IV game. I understand that the tireless users who rip maps from the game probably have a thousand more important things to do right now, so I'm just making sure the issue is known, so they can get to it in due time. --AndyPKMN 16:31, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Aipom in Crystal

I'm playing Pokémon Crystal right now, and have used Headbutt in those two trees in route 33... Aipom's are falling like crazy. However, Heracross is nowhere to be found and I've tried over twenty headbutts so far. I have a feeling the Pokémon availability in this page is wrong, it should be 30% for Aipom and 0% for Heracross (unless I find one later).

I'm not sure how people figure out these percentages, but I'd like to ask other people to confirm their experience here on Route 33. Thanks.

Special Tree?

What is with the special tree and underline with some pokemon (i.e. - pineco) for this and many other routes. What exactly does this mean and why do the percentages not add up to 100% for these "special trees". Seems odd to me. - unsigned comment from Mikeyruler (talkcontribs)

First of all, don't forget to sign, and second, I'm assuming you mean the headbutt trees, which you Headbutt to get Pokémon. The percentages aren't supposed to add up anyway. Gliscorguy54 22:37, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
Some Pokémon only appear in certain, "special" trees. For those trees, one or more of the normal Pokémon must have a different encounter rate. So in GS, you have trees which have Spearow 80% of the time and Aipom 20% of the time. Special trees have Heracross as well, with the encounter rate for Spearow decreasing to 50% to account for that. So the encounter rates for special trees are 50% Spearow, 30% Heracross and 20% Aipom. Aipom doesn't have a note in the list because it doesn't change for special trees. Ekans

Hi there, I just found an Ekans in the trees here. It wasn't listed on the page so I thought I should tell you. I'm playing Crystal.RBK (talk) 15:28, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

  • I KEEP FINDING THEM! IT'S SO WEIRD. SLEEPING EKANS. A BUNCH. So, yeah: independent verification that ekans can be found in trees there. I dunno what to tell people, but they clearly can be found!

Hiker Anthony

In Gen II, the Hiker on this route appears to either retire or devolve one of his Pokemon. For the second rematch he has a Machamp (at an impossibly low level I might add), but later he has Machoke instead. This was apparently changed in the remakes to reflect the proper order of evolution. Does anyone know if there are other instances of non story-related characters changing out Pokemon on their team, or is this a unique instance? It could be trivia worthy to note if this the only such case. --GARY-DOS (talk) 04:56, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
