::"First since X" trivia is really arbitrary, so I'd lean toward it not being notable at all. Yes, Fairy-types are the first Pokemon to be retyped since Magnemite/Magneton, but if another new type comes out, it'll be the first to trigger retypes since Fairy, and so on and so forth. First ever is one thing, but second isn't notable no matter how much you gussy it up in "first since" guises.
