Shouldn't we include Carnivine's origin, explored in the episode?--KukiTalk 21:51, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

We should wait until the episode is 100% clarified. And Dark Celebi was only temorary, and changing the sprite won't make such a difference.--Taviource 21:54, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

But bcuz of Vicious "owning" it, I think it would still b alrite--KukiTalk 21:56, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

I think u should include Carnivine's origin.--Diamaster 22:00, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Picture

Shouldn't the head image be changed? Its a really stupid one that is being used now.--Diby 16:22, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Under what pretense is it stupid? It's from the Oak Lecture about it. It showcases how Carnivine is very affectionate. But I'll humor this idea. What image would you change it to? -Sketch 18:06, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

Umm...we somewhat need the head image replacement now... ht14 02:32, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

It's just not showing. I already changed it. tc²₆tc26 02:34, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I see it now... it says "Error creating thumbnail: /home/themozz/public_html/bulbawiki/codebase-1.14/bin/ulimit4.sh: line 4: /usr/bin/convert: No such file or directory." Weird... ht14 02:36, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
I'm guessing you're not aware of the site's problem right now. tc²₆tc26 02:39, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Heaps of the images are doing that atm. Server shift has stuffed things up momentarily. Should be back soon, hopefully. — THE TROM — 02:40, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

New Image of Carnivine?

I just like the one I uploaded for it.

http://archives.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:James_and_Carnivine.jpg Sorry, I dont know how to post the pic on here. - unsigned comment from BAC510 (talkcontribs)

The picture is fine at the moment. No need to change. Your picture is technically worse as James is also in the image. Solar Dragon 21:04, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
You post images by putting Brackets around it with File at the beginning like this: File:James and Carnivine.jpg Turtwig A Contributions Talk 21:10, 17 September 2009 (UTC)
This is a good image but it is in jpg, if you can find one in png extension then it will be awesome. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 00:43, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

s's

Why does James' Carnivine redirect here? It should be the other way around because you do not put the s after an apostrophe when the last letter is an s. felinoel 10:36, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

If it was "James' Carnivine", the {{TP}} template would not work correctly. It's programmed to have an 's on every name, including ones that end in "s". This goes with Iris too. We had a whole argument over this some years ago on Bulbapedia's talk page. We know that's it is more proper but this way is not incorrect either. It's only done that way because of the template. --ケンジガール 10:46, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
How does it recognize that it is a name? Why is it programmed that way? felinoel 13:13, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
  1. It's programmed that way because it links to <trainer>'s <Pokémon> where the trainer is the first parameter and the Pokémon is the second.
  2. James's is not incorrect. It is correct English grammar to spell it James's. The redirect is there because James' is also correct. Understand that since both are correct, we are using the one which is massively easier to code for. Werdnae (talk) 04:41, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
I was always taught that both are not correct... which English are you using because I am using college APA English as well as MLA English? felinoel 11:59, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Just quickly because it's 1am and I'm tired. MLA prefers James's, Charles's, etc. For any singular noun (including those ending in s), MLA wants an 's. I don't remember what APA prefers. It's been over a year since I used it. Link for reference. But yes, they're both correct. As such, for consistency and ease, Bulbapedia uses the repeated s. —darklordtrom 12:20, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
And as TTE stated somewhere, James' can also mean that it belongs to more than one Jame, whereas James's is completely unambiguous. --SnorlaxMonster 12:31, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Riiiight... ummmmm which version of MLA is that? I graduated two years ago and haven't used MLA for about four years now (they seemed to favor the APA), so I may be out of touch with the new versions of MLA? ...I guess? felinoel 12:19, 24 November 2010 (UTC)
I don't recall; all my notes and textbooks are now in storage so I wouldn't be able to check either. But the Wikipedia link explains it pretty well I think. —darklordtrom 02:22, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
Interesting... I must be just really used to APA then? Oh well felinoel 15:14, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Bind?

Did Carnivine really use bind? I don't recall Jessie telling it to use the move in DP012, so most likely it was
either told to wrap its roots around the opponent, or to use another move like wrap or constrict. If it's in the Japenese version,
that's fine, but for right now, I'm deleting it from the Moves Used section.Confusion 02:21, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

It did use it in the Japanese version, which is the canon version. Please stop deleting Bind. Thank you.--Muk-a-matic-Maketh the Muk go round... 02:50, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

Again, I'm very sorry, and I promoise it won't ever happen again! I actually just stupidly thought that my edits weren't getting through.Confusion 02:54, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

I just think that it would be wise to put Bind in the "Japanese version only" section. After all, people not watching this version of the anime might be confused as to why that's there, and think that it's incorrect, don't you agree?Confusion 19:43, 31 March 2012 (UTC)

It is still seen using Bind in one of the contests, however. Littlmiget123 19:50, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
That's true, but in the dub she never tells it to use Bind, so we are left to believe that it was simply wrapping the Rhydon up.Confusion 19:55, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
I disagree. I never watch the Japanese version, but I still knew it was Bind. A Flamethrower is still a Flamethrower even if it isn't said (Simisage, for example). Whereas, moves like Shock Wave/Thunder Wave and Headbutt/Skull Bash have notes because it's hard to tell them apart. ^-^ Littlmiget123 20:00, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
But how do you know that it wasn't Wrap or Constrict?Confusion 20:29, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
