Heh, I've just noticed that Gulpin is the only pure Poison-type that isn't purple-coloured. Not notable enough to be on the page, but still an interesting tidbit of info. --Someone Else 13:36, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Hang on a second. The article now links to the list of Pokémon by colour. When I typed my above comment, I wasn't referring to Pokédex-recognised colour, I was referring to its general overall look. Nidorina is considered blue and Seviper is considered black in the Pokédex, so the info on the page is currently incorrect. --Someone Else 02:08, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Gulpin appears in SSBB. It swallows characters and holds them in its mouth for a few seconds, damaging them. Diachronos 17:11, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

-I took out the references to blobfish as the possible basis. Sorry guys, but the popular photo of a blobfish was never taken until after r/s/e came out, and said photo depicts a very bizarrely damaged corpse. A natural, living blobfish looks absolutely nothing like Gulpin or Swalot. It looks like a quite normal fish, in fact. - unsigned comment from Scythemantis (talkcontribs)

Worth mentioning?

Anybody else notice that Gulpin is the only Pokemon with only one evolution AND one type to be in the possesion of one of the Hexagon Brothers in XD Gale of Darkness? --XD00153 17:59, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

No, it isn't notable, it is far too contrived. Especially since either it is referring to Shadow Pokémon only, in which case two conditions for a group of six is far too many, or if not, then Koffing, Goldeen, Grimer and Electrike all say Hi. Werdnae (talk) 20:45, 9 August 2010 (UTC)

Removed redundant "In other languages" section

I dunno why this was there, especially since it had the exact same information as in the standard IOL section, so I removed it.

Here it is, just for posterity.

==In other languages==
  • German: Schluppuck
  • French: Gloupti - From the onomatopoeia gloup (a swallowing sound), and petit (small).
  • Korean: 꼴깍몬 Kkolkkakmon
  • Chinese (Taiwan): 溶食獸 Róng Shí Shòu - 溶 means to dissolve. 食 may refer to food or eating. 獸 means beast. May mean "Digesting beast".

Someone (probably me) forgot to remove it when prettying up the section. Oops. Zurqoxn 14:29, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

"Yellow feather on head"

Are we really sure this is a feather? If not, might I suggest it be changed to "yellow feather-like appendage"? Haxorus 04:17, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Agreed, there is no actual evidence to suggest it is a feather. Go ahead and change it if you want to.--ForceFire 05:36, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, done. Haxorus 05:38, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

It's a tamagotchi

I can't be the only one who thinks Gulpin looks like a Kuchipatchi.
