:::::As Glik said, the Roman numerals are still a fan designator. If anything, this could be a precedent to move all our generation articles to "sixth generation", etc., instead of using Roman numerals. If we did so, though, we would have to make edits to pretty close to every single page on the wiki, though, so I'm not sure how reasonable it would be on such slim evidence. The Roman numerals are a core part of our in-house style's infrastructure. [[User:Pumpkinking0192|Pumpkinking0192]] ([[User talk:Pumpkinking0192|talk]]) 17:45, 9 February 2014 (UTC)

::::::Here in Italy, Roman numerals are read as "first", "second", etc; it appears it's not the case in English-speaking countries. Anyway, do as you wish, the meaning of "Pokémon X and Pokémon Y–the evolved sixth generation of Pokémon." seems quite clear to me, it refers to the games and, obviously, to the Pokémon they introduced. :::::::"Generation VI" and "GenVI" are both fan designators for what is currently "Pokémon X and Pokémon Y", an official term. "Sixth generation" ''might'' be able to be ''considered'' official, but I personally believe that Bulbapedia should keep the "Generation ''foo''" names, given that only GenVI would have an official name, and I favor consistancy in page naming.
