:Of course, most of the Xatu's signals are just gibberish anyways; that is, the actual positions of their wings are nonsense, rather than what their wings actually spell out. And given the fact that the animators only have a limited number of frames to work with and repeat, they're really only stuck with three or four letters, assuming they're signing in English and not in Japanese.
