Evolving

Melvin's Exeggcute evolving incident wasn't an error, the forest gives off power the same as a leaf stone (info from Nintendo). PokéZoeTalk/Contribs

I think I know why this episode didn't air on Cartoon Network

I think it had something to do with the land mines.--Pokencyclopedia 13:47, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Outfits

Isn't Ash's outfit in this episode somewhat similar to his Wallace Cup outfit? The colour is changed from orange-brown to grey brown, and the frills are flattened, but otherwise the outfits look pretty similar. Trivia worthy? Satosuke 23:24, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

I'd love to see the both images and compare. What's the Wallace Cup again? Is it the flying contest where Ash's Taillow evolved? I really want to compare, but I'm unsure of either of the outfits. Maybe I should watch this episode again... TheBlazikenMaster 00:58, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
The Wallace Cup, or rather Mikuri Cup, since it hasn't aired in America yet, is the coordinator convention that recently aired in Japan that was headed by Mikuri, or Wallace, the Hoenn League Champion and an elite Coordinator. It was May's response to the Mirage Kingdom/Togepi mini-arc in which Misty temporarily rejoined the cast back in Hoenn. This time, May rejoined to compete in the contest against Ash, Dawn, and Zoey as well as many others. Ash wore a formal attire in the episode that was similar (at least in my opinion) to his outfit back in March of the Exeggutor Squad. I'll look for the pictures - it's hard to find a good picture of Ash in his outfit from this old episode without stealing it from places like Pokemopolis (that's where I saw the picture that made me think they look quite similar). Venusaur debut

I personally think that this should be thought again as Venusaur can as well be seen in Ghost of the Maiden Peak already. (though it was an illusion, so some may not count that) UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 12:48, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Wasn't that just Blastoise with a tree sticking out of its head? --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 13:05, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Venustoise was. But before that, Squirtle and Bulbasaur were first facing a single Blastoise and Venusaur before they merged. UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 13:35, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
It seems that there was a Venusaur also in Island of the Great Pokémon. UltimateSephiroth (user · talk · contrib) 16:24, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes, but this Venasaur has the special significance of being the first REAL Venasaur to appear in the series - not a ghostly projection or a giant mecha like the previous two appearances. Satosuke 14:02, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
