Can someone please fix the sprite picture? Aiddat 20:38, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

K thanks. Aiddat 11:51, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Gah, did I accidently set the Sprite template wrong? ^^; Sorry! Your head goes a little dizzy after editing a bunch of pages in a row... TinaTheKirlia 00:40, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

I added availability info for PokemonXD. I'm suprised it said 'Trade' considering it has it's shadow moveset listed and it's listed on the snaggable page for XD. I hope I did it correctly (it looks correct, but I am unsure). (Shivafang 14:12, 29 July 2010 (UTC))

Possible anime reference?

So, I'm presently in a debate with somebody (Kind of, he isn't responding at that point, but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and guess he's offline at the present) over whether Duskull's shiny color being red could be a reference to Char Aznable, a VERY well known anime character in Japan from the anime Mobile Suit Gundam. I wanted to put it here for public debate so as to prevent an edit war. My reasoning for this hypothesis is due to the fact that Char is known for piloting machines that have a single "eye" that is in many ways similar to that of Duskull, and he always paints his red. As I already said, he is VERY well known in Japan, where the pokemon games are, of course, made. There have even been officially liscensed "Char Custom" Nintendo systems sold. I ALSO have links to photos to prove the similarities when it comes to Duskull's eye and shiny coloring, so, should this POSSIBLE reasoning for Duskull's shiny color go in the trivia section on the page?Red Comet 01:38, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Just because he's well known does not mean it's inspiration. Your links were to Wikia sites, which breaks policy in the same vein as Wikipedia. Speculation to that degree is not allowed. We might as well say Meloetta was inspired by Lady Gaga--SandmanDP 01:45, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
No, there is actually a big difference, these are large similarities, larger than "The devil" (which is cited as being a possible reason that he is red.) Also, policy does NOT say that one can't link to wiki sites OR wikipedia. It only says that you can't copy text from them. Also, I was hoping to get input from people other than the one I was arguing with.Red Comet 01:59, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
I am allowed to reaffirm my opinion--SandmanDP 02:06, 14 February 2012 (UTC)
I agree. Also, I would like to counter your previous point and say that if Meleotta had a form/feature that VERY strongly matches that of Lady Gaga and had a shiny color for that form/feature that resembles lady Gaga, that it probably would be worth mentioning that there is a possibility that that color could be a reference to her. Note that the word "Possibility" just means that there is a chance that it is reference. The designers already have fun with shiny colors, such as many red pokemon having a blue shiny color as part of that whole "Red vs blue" thing (which is actually very common in video games and other forms of media, even with promotions of Reshiram and Zekrom.) so I believe it would be reasonable to assume that there is at the very least the possibility that they use a shiny color as a nod to a character with cultural signifigance/recognition akin to that of Darth Vader.Red Comet 02:12, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Beliefs, assumptions, and opinions are not allowed except for name origins. What you are doing can be summarized by TVTropes as WMG: Wild Mass Guessing. Your opinions are not supported by fact--SandmanDP 02:20, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Unless Duskull's name was inspired by that character, I don't see much of a resemblance between Duskull or either Gundam from Mobile Suit Gundam. Frozen Fennec 02:22, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

In that case, should we remove the uncertain, non-name related suggestion that Duskull's shiny coloring is meant to be the devil? Also, where does it say that in the user guidlines or style manual? I'm having trouble finding where it specifies speculation in there and don't want to be unaware of anything when it comes to future edits.Red Comet 03:00, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

The policy of common sense says encyclopedias are factual--SandmanDP 03:08, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

I looked through the entire wiki's guidelines and there is NOTHING saying that speculation such as that which I provided should not be in the various articles. I'm not sure how I feel about your use of the phase "Common sense says encyclopedias are factual." Especially when this wiki has a shipping section.Red Comet 03:20, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Please only submit information you know to be accurate, and adhere to a neutral point of view. Do not misrepresent rumors, misconceptions or opinions as fact. That also counts for speculation which is for the most part shunned here. The shipping section is for trying to prove that two characters/Pokemon love each other as hinted at in episodes. There's a reason competetive tiers are in the Appendix and Shipping is its own namespace--SandmanDP 03:26, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

You have a point.Red Comet 03:29, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

I think everything has been settled here, then. I'm sorry, but that piece of trivia is not notable, as Duskull only resembles the character in question through its red color, and nothing else. Would you guys mind indenting your comments from now on? It's easier to keep track of who's talking. Masatoshitalk 21:40, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Dear fellow users, Have you noticed how long this discussion is. I suggest we put an end to this. Why don't I just remove the shiny description on it's physiology, because this is the only pokemon whose physiology informs you about it's alternate coloring. And really devil, how is the grim reaper related to the devil, and devil it's reference is more of a dark type (evil in Japanese).Gelato Gelato (talk) 14:05, 23 March 2013 (UTC)Gelato Gelato a cyclops fan.
