Headers

I don't know about anyone else, but I think adding in "Pokemon" four times in one heading makes the article look WORSE. Before, it looked concise. Now it stretches the screen and it looks all muddled in the table of contents. I really don't think the full names are neccessary when the full name of the games have already been linked and noted earlier in the article. I think it was done to make things look professional, but instead it just makes the article look cluttered. - unsigned comment from Zeta (talkcontribs)

Replacing === Heading === with
Headng
for subsubsub headers would solve that. --Meowth346

Episode?

What episode was he in? Zurqoxn 22:35, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Chuck?

Does anybody else think that he looks like Chuck a little bit? Just look at this picture of Bruno and then look at this picture of Chuck. http://www.geocities.com/pokemontours2/indexes/people/Johto/gym/chuck.htm --Ryguy 14:06, 19 August 2007 (EST)

Well, they're both based on the classic "muscleman" stereotype. Zurqoxn 21:15, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Chuck's just gone to seed a bit. Which I think his wife comments on. --DarkfireTaimatsu 21:41, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

First Episode?

When looking at the figure, it was similar to Bruno, but the shadowy figure lacks any wrist accessories (Or whatever they're called).. So it might not be. Gywall 15:00, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

It's still entirely possible that it is Bruno, even though the figure already had an Onix. For one, the EP001 Onix was normal, while the one Bruno captured onscreen was giant. Additionally, there's also one other case of a Kanto Elite Four having more than one of the same species in the anime, again in two distinct variations (except in the other case, it's color, not size, that's the difference). --Shiningpikablu252 16:17, 22 May 2008 (UTC)
Should we really have Onix and Nidorino like it's confirmed? Because right now, we don't know if that was Bruno. No one said anything about the figure in the episode. J-J-M 04:20, 18 April 2009 (UTC)
I just looked at that scene, and I'm fairly sure that battle is Bruno vs Agatha. It would make sense, considering their positions and recalling the battle seen on TV between Aaron and Cynthia. Also, he is wearing the wrist things. --Galladeon 06:37, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
I also think that's Bruno vs. Agatha. But Agatha is not seen, so we can be sure only about Bruno, if it really is him. And if you ask from me, he looks like Bruno, so should Nidorino and the normal sized Onix be confirmed as his anime Pokémon? In EP001's Trivia it still reads that the shadowy figure is Bruno. And what so if he has some minor diffeneces for his later-seen -character appearance? Those might have just bee errors or the character's anime design wasn't totally complete yet. So should those two Pokémon be confirmed as his Pokémon and placed back to his anime Pokémon list along with mention of his appearance in EP001? --FinnishPokéFan92 17:29, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Fame Checker

I just added Bruno's Fame Checker phrases, but it is missing one from a man outside the Tanoby Keys on Seven Island. Additionally we still need the phrase when he is defeated. -MasterKenobi 01:15, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

You can look it up. See the external link from Fame Checker. ht14 02:01, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Or not...type "Fame Checker" on Google or something. You'll get some solid results. ht14 02:02, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
I put the ones up that I found and is complete. I will double check it against by FireRed copy once I get them. -MasterKenobi 02:12, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Another Lucario

Serebii.net confirms that Bruno owns a Lucario making him the fourth trainer to own one. Chomper4 23:22, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Fantastic. It'll go in the party template, but not the trivia. By the time we get to four it stops being notable. How many Trainers use Blastoise, or Wigglytuff? There is a line drawn about trivia, and I think that one crosses it. —darklordtrom 00:59, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
It explicidly states Important NPCs. How many important NPC's owned Wigglytuff? --ケンジガール 01:13, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

First appearance

I think the shadowed Trainer with a strong resemblance to Bruno in the beginning of EP001 should be at least mentioned in the section "In the anime". If so, here are images of him and his Pokémon. —TheVeryBest 21:47, 30 June 2014 (UTC)

Different hometown possibilities

Since Bruno appears in generations 1-4, he appears in Kanto in 1 and 3; Johto in 2 and 4, is it possible that he could be from different hometowns? My reasons for asking are games/anime-based. In the game, he is first asked about in Saffron City, which has been shown to host a Fighting Dojo (anime; not sure about games and other media), the Saffron Gym, a Contest Hall (anime; not sure about games) and the Battle Arena (anime only). So for Kanto, he could be from Saffron City. As far as Johto goes, there's the fighting dojo (mentioned in the anime, alongside other places for Fighting trainers) and Cianwood City, where the Cianwood Gym is. So for Johto, it can be stated that he is from Cianwood City. I'm just wondering, despite my battles with him occurring years ago, it just sticks with me. WATERWarrior67 19:06, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

That would be (very baseless) speculation. Unless Bruno's hometown is explicitly mentioned, we leave it blank. —TheVeryBest 19:18, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Oh. Now I feel like an idiot. WATERWarrior67 17:23, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
Nah, an idiot would edit it in themselves without bothering to consult the Talk page or a member of staff. You did the right thing, and Bulbapedia is all about learning, so don't sweat it! —TheVeryBest 20:29, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
Thanks. That can be easier said than done, though! WATERWarrior67 22:32, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Different hair colors

In the anime, Bruno's hair is black. However, in some of the games, color differentiates. In both versions of Stadium, his hair is an off shade of brown. Whereas in generations one and three, his hair appears black. In generation 2, his hair seems to be navy with a hint of gray in color. As for generation four, his hair seems to be cobalt blue, blue-gray, or whichever shade of blue gray hair Dawn and Lucas have in Platinum. Am I the only one who's noticed? Also, in the anime, was he supposed to appear tanned? Just asking. WATERWarrior67 21:22, 29 December 2014 (UTC)

Standing up

I know there are no sprites of him standing up, but is it noteworthy that Bruno stands up briefly in Pikachu and Eevee?--Pokemon26 (talk) 21:25, 26 December 2018 (UTC)

No, that's not worth mentioning at all.--ForceFire 03:35, 27 December 2018 (UTC)

Type trivia

I added some trivia saying how Bruno/Chuck are the only Elite Four/Gym Leader in the same generation to share types. This was removed with Wallace/Juan being used as an example. Is there another way to word this as I thought about Wallace/Juan and Iris/Drayden but they are Champion/Gym Leader as opposed to E4/Gym Leader, I don't want to start edit wars. Masser (talk) 21:37, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

I think you were correct in your wording, it might have just been a misunderstanding. Though I am curious if that is correct as Will and Sabrina or Koga and Janine also exist in those games as well. I would suggest taking it up with the user that undid your edit and explaining what you meant.--Rahl (talk) 21:41, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
I also thought Will/Sabrina and Koga/Janine and I see your point with them that's why I thought wording may be a problem (wording isn't my strong suit. I have the ideas, just struggle with good wording). I meant it as the Saffron and Fuchsia Gyms were introduced in Generation I and, despite also appearing in Generation II, were not needed in order to battle the Generation II Elite Four. Apologies. How about something more like "Bruno is the only Elite Four member to share a type with a Gym Leader who has already battled in the same game"? Masser (talk) 22:33, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
Better wording is good. I would assume it is my mistake as I tend to lump E4 / Champions into one whole group rather than separately, probably not how it is meant to go on this wiki. Feel free to add it back, my apologies. Frozen Fennec 22:45, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
Needing such specific wording might be a hint that the trivia is unnotable. Especially if you have to make distinctions (E4/Champion) and exceptions (introduction generation). The fact that Will/Sabrina and Koga/Janine are part of the same League should make them qualify as well, regardless of whether or not they were introduced in the same Gen or already fought. Bruno in the first episode and in Mewtwo Strikes Back

I was watching the kanzenban version of Mewtwo Strikes Back, and it has the same Gengar VS Onix battle from the first episode. The Gengar's Trainer is very much clearly Agatha: the height, the hair, the dress, all match up with her design back then. Thus, I think it is safe to deduce that her opponent is Bruno, due to his Onix, his built, his hair and all that. So, considering this is the same battle shown in Pokémon - I Choose You, should we finally "officialize" Bruno's cameo in EP001, instead of having him as just a "Trainer who bears a strong resemblance to Bruno"?
