:::::Why does this conversation about Surf keep coming back? It's stupid... of course the Pokémon swim with a human riding them. They can't swim underwater without having to come up every 30 seconds or so so the human can breathe. Ash has used Squirtle to travel short distances (and in M01 it was long distance in a storm), Misty has used various Water types, and so many others have done the same thing. It's not surf. It's something called "swimming". Just like with Fly. You don't get on a bird to have it walk you around, unless it's a Doduo or Dodrio. That's what wings are for. Flying.
