Trivia

I know it says up top not to add trivia, but I think this page should note that Amanita was the first storage system developer whose English name is not based on computer network terminology. It's trivia, but it's worthwhile trivia. --AndyPKMN (talk) 19:02, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Name Origin

I believe that her name might come from the words animate or animation. Her name does after all contain all the letters for the word animate except there's missing an e and there are three a's.- unsigned comment from Celebi 21 (talkcontribs)

I don't think so. The word "animate" really has nothing to do with her character or role. And since her name in every other language comes from a type of fungus, that's probably where her English name comes from too. --AndyPKMN (talk) 16:44, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
I still believe, it's right, if you look at a lot of key characters from Black and White, the origin of their names refer to their elements, people like Clay, Brycen, Elesa, Shauntal, Grimsley, Marshal and the list goes on, all their names refers to their types in English, but in most of the other language their names are based upon plant species. Amanita is a part of a big computer project, the Pokémon Storage System, so I think the words 'animate' and 'animation' seem natural for her, since they are computer-related. Think of it this way: all the major characters camped in Striaton City have English names associated with plants that happen to relate to their types (though why Fennel is Fennel is anyone's guess). That puts it more likely that Amanita is supposed to be the mushroom over the computer term, though it is possible that's a dual relation they were going for. But it is definitely the mushroom first. Mushrooms are not plants. Mushrooms can't produce photosynthesis, and they lack chlorophyll, their cells are completly different from plant cells, so in that way her name doesn't refer to a 'plant'. (Celebi 21 17:05, 24 June 2011 (UTC))

Fennel

Forgive me, but I really didn't know Fennel and Amanita were sisters. Is there any quote or official guide that endorses it? |) u |( e ® 13:33, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
