Time

Do you really think that in the Anime the years never pass? I don't think so! --User:Haruka uzumaki 15 September,2007

That's the thing. The years pass, but the characters don't change. --DarkfireTaimatsu 02:40, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

"The passage of time is clear, but characters show small, if any, signs of aging. This is because the writers and character designs seem to ignore the issue of aging."
This seems more like restating the point than an actual explanation. TheGrammarian 13:28, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Ash/Dawn

When and where was it stated that Ash is the same age as Dawn? - Cassius335 09:50, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Dawn's ten at the start of her journey. Ash has never ever celebrated a birthday nor indicated he was any older than ten. At the start of AG, Ash and May were advertised as "the same age", and May was ten. TTEchidna 10:01, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
So just because we've never seen Ash's birthday, he's still ten? Come on... - Cassius335 10:06, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Guess what, Bull Crap! I hate the anmie ALOT. But in movie 3 short, Ash had a party for Pikachu being with him for a year. Scince he got a Pikachu at exactly 10, that means he must be atleast 11!--Quick Man 11:59, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

But, as TTE said, we have an official statement that Ash is still ten at the start of AG. Many series ignore the issue of aging despite the apparent passage of years - just look at the article on Comic Book Time in the external links. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 12:04, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
You have a point there Quick Man. This should be mentioned somewhere in the article that in the third movie short, Ash celebrates the day that he got Pikachu. He doesn't mention that it's been one year, but it takes one year for "the day" to occur again. What this is, is that the storyline of the pokemon got screwed up somewhere between generation 2 and generation 3 when May got introduced. There is also another point I would like to bring up here. In AG189, while ash and his pokemon sit around the fire, he mention that alot has happened over the "years". I don't know if this is only in the dub, but might be worth mentioning. That's what this article is for isn't it.Vhayes1992 03:18, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
He does have a point. It states that Ash has been with Pickachu for a year. Which was sort of obvious. Ash would be like 13 by now but silly people wont say that he ages. --Blake 01:30, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
The flaw in your reasoning is assuming that any sort of logic is used here. Seriously, look at stuff like The Simpsons or Detective Conan. Both are series that have been going for longer than Pokémon and clearly show the passage of years, yet the characters have not aged at all. It's just a cartoon, people. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 14:08, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
The only thing that cares about aging at all is not even anime. It's Pokémon Special, a manga. Though it's possible to see aging in the anime, it's MUCH more common in the manga, not the anime. ht14 03:27, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

OMG! Humans Evovle!

...Well, according to here: [1]. They have some otjer pretty wild theories, too. Should we include some of these theories? --Manga-in-a-bottle 11:20, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

That seems to be all filled with mumbo-jumbo... how could that help improve this article?--DRAGONBEASTX 01:13, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
Uh, no. Linking to the page TV Tropes has on this phenomenon is fine but their intentionally ridiculous theories are not really mainspace material. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 14:01, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Ash would have to be...

In that one Pokémon thingy that I think I saw along with Movie 4 while Pikachu and Pichu Bros run away from a random Houndour, don't they celebrate Ash and Pikachu's anniversary. I'd assume that'd be their one year anniversary and that would mean Ash would be AT LEAST 11. I know you guys take the age of his first appearance but JUSSAYIN'. --Bee § Bwakka 21:05, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Best Wishes confirms Ash is still 10. Jellotalk 21:10, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
Then is it worth noting that that's contradicting that special? --Bee § Bwakka 22:35, 18 December 2010 (UTC)
It's... a... cartoon... They do not have to follow the laws of the universe. It would be different if they said Ash turned 11 and went back on it but they don't. I suggest you watch The Simpsons or Family Guy. Do you realize how many years were mentioned to go by in Family Guy and yet Stewie is still a 1 year old? JUSSAYIN'.
BTW, in that special, all Ash said was "This is the day we first met. The day when we became friends". I don't see anything mentioning that a year went by. --ケンジガール 00:24, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Honeydew Lifestyle

Where does this term come from? I can't find any mention of it on Wikipedia or TV Tropes, and a Google search only yields this page as using this term. --SnorlaxMonster 03:22, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

Is it even a proper noun? Shouldn't it be "honeydew lifestyle" without the caps? --Abcboy (talk) 02:40, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Well if it's only mentioned here it's barely a noun at all. I say we just come up with another name for it.Micamike45 (talk) 03:24, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
