Dive

This is the only diveable location in Isshu?--Darknesslover5000 00:33, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

Yes. Also, the 1st floor has a relic vase, a relic statue, and multiple relic copper, silver, and gold (along with 14 plates). I don't know how to upload the images so can someone put it up? Thank you! ----Sparen (talk) 13:22, 12 March 2011 (UTC)

Replenishing items

Do the items replenish themselves over time? the relic gold and such?--Darknesslover5000 00:54, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

No. Blazios 01:45, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Items

There are more items in these ruins than is listed. I don't know their locations, or I'd just edit the page, but I've found four relic coppers, and according to the page and this discussion there's only three! Anyone know anything about this?Shadowhammer321 10:03, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

This page is inaccurate. The items are different for every person, or at least, thats how it looks to me. I got a relic statue on the first floor, and that isn't on this page. I think that either the items are different for every person, or no-one here is getting all the items. --Fishmonk 18:03, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

See my comment further down the page. There are a huge number of items on the first floor in particular which aren't listed. The plates are correct, but there are a number of Relic items as well. --AndyPKMN (talk) 19:07, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

The items are not different for every person. They are now updated with the accurate amounts for every floor. In total: 14 relic plates, 6 copper coins, 6 silver coins, 7 gold coins, 5 bands, 3 statues, 4 vases, 1 crown. Proton8 00:12, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Floors

Another thing which confuses me is this talk of floors. I've not seen any stairs, it's just a 2d maze. If someone could make that more clear on the page, I feel it would be beneficial.Shadowhammer321 10:05, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

At the center of the floor you enter on is a spot where you can ascend to the second floor. There are four floors in total. The item listing for the first floor is incorrect, by the way—there are a number of Relic Items on the first floor in addition to the Plates. --AndyPKMN (talk) 12:22, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

How do u get past the purple pillar blocking the stairs?:garchomper29

Language

What is the odd writing on the red squares? does anyone have a key? Also, do the different entrances hold different items?--NotSteve 0_o 23:36, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

For the first two questions: see this thread. For the third question: no. —Minimiscience 23:40, 16 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I discovered that third part shortly after posting (I'm currently playing), and the post was useful.--NotSteve 0_o 00:15, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

OK, so. I saw that the translation someone added (matching the thread posted above) was deleted by someone else on the grounds of "verifiability" (or lack thereof). However, there are a number of sources over the internet that translate the pillars to say the same thing. Regardless of whether or not the same method of translation is being passed around the fact is it works; I myself have literally just gone into the ruins and used it to translate some of the pillars myself into alphabet characters that (when read in the correct direction i.e. right to left & bottom to top and pieced together, since the pillars are scattered about) also corresponds to the message everyone else has gotten. Do it yourself, if you don't believe me. The fact of the matter is that symbols - whether or not they are cuneiform, which I personally cannot tell - can be translated and arranged into a coherent english message and I think they deserve to be added.Green Zubat 00:42, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

there seem to be at least three languages in the pokemon world, unown alphabet, braille, and this cipher language. does anyone else think its worth creating a separate article for 'ancient languages?'Arrchec 01:53, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Good idea, except they're not separate languages, they're different scripts; braille, Unown & Abyssal are all written in the English language but not the Roman alphabet.Green Zubat 23:33, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

About those unknown symbols in the writing

Is there a particular reason they're numbered 3-6 instead of 1-4? Or is it just an arbitrary decision? Yamiidenryuu 13:37, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Arbitrary, they're just placeholders for the actual, untransliteratable symbols. You could have 1-4 if you wanted.Green Zubat 08:07, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Symbols.

How about adding them to the article? Anyone feeling up to printscreening or caligraphing them into a list? PLA 15:23, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

  • This thread might have what you're looking for. Yamiidenryuu 19:50, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
    • Yar, like that. Good find. Some of the later comments there are apparently written with the stuff, as well. PLA 20:00, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
I think uploading the individual symbols, and putting them in the article (especially the unidentified ones) would be a good idea. --SnorlaxMonster 10:25, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Using pictures of the unidentified symbols in the translation instead of (3)-(6) would be a good idea, yes. (And is there any reason 3-6 were used instead of 1-4? Unless there were two other symbols before those four or some reason for them to be associated with those numbers, it makes more sense to start from one with them, right?) Yamiidenryuu 00:22, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Well, when I originally added the message I also added the symbols (along with how they relate to the cipher) but the picture - despite being fair use, I believe - was removed by a mod, so make of that what you will. It'll be in the history, if you feel like restoring it. And as I said above, the choice of placeholder was apparently abitraryGreen Zubat 08:12, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

I think that that was removed due to all of the crediting all over it. It's still uploaded though, just unused. However, my suggestion was to upload the individual characters, then put them in tables ourselves. --SnorlaxMonster 10:25, 14 September 2011 (UTC)

Map?

Could someone upload a map of the indoors? I'd do it, but I honestly don't know how, hehe. Wynd Fox 18:22, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, please do, I need oneMicamike45 01:36, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Such layout maps are standard for pages like this, I believe. I have therefore placed an "incomplete" template on the page with a request for maps. Hopefully, someone'll come along and put the maps up. (I can't do it myself, as I don't have the materials to take crystal-clear screenshots as far as BW is concerned). The Interchangeable ③ and ④?

"The positions of two of the unknown symbols—denoted by placeholders ③ and ④ below—swap positions between Pokémon Black and White."

On both my Black and White versions (UK), the symbols are identical. On both versions, the bottom left panel reads "④ joined King in a day." The top left panel reads "King defeated ③ alone."

I've checked with two friends who own both versions of Black and White (again, both UK) and the panels all read the same; there is no difference between versions.

Perhaps only the USA/Japanese versions have 3 and 4 differ between versions? Therion 14:33, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Arceus

I heard from a rumor Arceus was in the ruins at the back of the cave. Chowolun 13:37, 9 April 2012 (UTC) User:Lucario985

No. It's a Relic Crown.--ForceFire 13:38, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

Symbols

Anyone get a list of symbols, like (symbol)=a?-- The Plasma King 18:53, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Relation to N

Considering the fact that many of the pillars seem to describe N (especially on floors three and four) or some sort of relation to him, and the fact that the numbers corresponding to the corners one turns are prime numbers (which is related to N in his mathematical intelligence and is also acknowledged in composition of his music), the "king" mentioned in the pillars all over are most likely a prophecy of N's doings, something an ancestor has done, or some other concept related directly to N. Just bringing up the idea, feel free to discuss, refute, add some of this to the article, or not add it to the article. Namadu (talk) 23:00, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

I believe it is fairly clear that N is a descendant of the Abyssal Ruins king. One of the translated passages says, "King talks to all beings," which would obviously include Pokémon. If you talk to Zinzolin in BW2 after exploring the ruins, he says, "If that king has descendants, maybe those special powers were passed down..." Concordia furthermore indicates that N's ability to talk to Pokémon was something he possessed at birth, rather than being something he learned by living with them. Add it all together (no pun intended), and it seems fairly obvious N is implied to be that king's descendant. Silmina (talk) 14:33, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Misinterpretation Regarding the Anime

The temple explored in the recent Meloetta two-parter is called Underwater Temple in Japanese as opposed to Underwater Ruins. More importantly, it has nothing in common with the Abyssal Ruins aside from being located underwater in the vicinity of Undella Town. To say that they are one and the same is even more inaccurate than saying that Mistralton Tower is just another name for Celestial Tower. -Unown Lord (talk)

Map in Black 2 / White 2

It appears that the map between B1W1 and B2W2 is the same, from what I've done in my copy of White 2. Items are the same and in the exact same locations. Would like to have somebody confirm, but this appears to be the case from what I've seen. Sir VG (talk) 11:18, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, it's definitely the same. I've checked and all the item placement and stuff are the same between the games. Torpoleon (talk) 18:56, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

Translator

In B2W2 Zinzolin gives you some of Ghetsis's papers so you can translate the characters on the walls. Where should this fact, and the translations, be put in the article? KyuremsIceBlade (Talk) (Contribs) 17:39, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

I think it should be just under the Black and White section as long as the messages have changed. If they are or are mostly the same, then I would say using what it was before and using the tt template for anything that should be noted. --Super goku (talk) 22:35, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
Nothing much changes even with his notes, the unknown characters on the fourth floor are only devised into a number of blank spaces. The first three are all six spaces long, and the last one is eight. It could provide some hints, but not very many. --Alxprit (talk) 14:19, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
Nothing? The spaces are the key to this. (Though, some guessing would have likely put us in the same direction.) To list them: ③ is Zekrom or Reshiram, ④ is Reshiram or Zekrom, ⑤ might be the Plates or Kyurem (This is still unusual), and ⑥ should be Arceus. Granted, this is speculation until prove to be correct or incorrect. --Super goku (talk) 16:35, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
>_< Just curious, what version do you have? I do see that there is at least one mistake in my reply above. --Super goku (talk) 16:38, 29 October 2012 (UTC)
I have White 2. Arceus can't be in the last space because, as I noted, it is eight characters long. If the theory I heard is correct and the King is N's distant ancestor, the last blank could fill in all eight spaces with "Harmonia". Odd as that may be. --Alxprit (talk) 17:14, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
Yep, that was one of the mistakes. Harmonia could be it due to the connection to the word. In any case, this might take several languages of the games to figure it out. (Mostly since the spaces should differ between languages which would remove several choices. --Super goku (talk) 21:10, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

Symbols

I'm getting the symbol's images. Is there an image naming thing I should do? --Abcboy (talk) 16:13, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Gave up on that...anyway, our German counterpart has all the symbols. What are the proper channels to ask if we can use them? --Abcboy (talk) 02:57, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
I have all the symbols from within the Abyssal Ruins. Do we want all of the symbols or just the symbols that need to have for the placeholders? Adamws (talk) 05:26, 8 October 2014 (UTC)
It'd probably be better to just have four images, one for the whole message on each floor, rather than one for every individual character. The individual characters are kind of trivial, IMO. Tiddlywinks (talk) 12:07, 8 October 2014 (UTC)

Reshiram/Zekrom Symbol Meaning?

Has no one ever thought up that because the symbols switch between versions, they represent the legendary Pokémon, considering it states "King defeated __ alone." and "__ joined King in a day." - unsigned comment from Pipproductionco (talkcontribs)

It has been thought of countless times, but it still remains nothing more than speculation. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 04:24, 4 April 2015 (UTC)

Proof?

Where is proof that the symbols actually switch between versions? I have played white and white2, and watched about 30 videos on youtube in different languages, none of them shows the symbols swapped. --Izumiya ichihara (talk) 18:04, 9 September 2017 (UTC)

you'll be sent to the surface without taking a step

I know because that's what I happened when I used Dive. Pikachu210 (talk) 22:32, 23 December 2019 (UTC)
