Taillow (Japanese: スバメ Subame) is a dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon.
Biology
Physiology
Taillow are small bird Pokémon with dark blue feathers with patches of red on their chest and forehead, the patch on their forehead having a triangular upper tip. Their wings have wingtips that are elongated, thus making the wings seem configured for speed and maneuverability. The underside of the wings also have white coloration. Taillow possesses two sharp tail feathers. Their yellow beak is somewhat short, but wide, and their black feet have yellow nails.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Taillow have fantastic speed and aerial abilities. In addition to this, they become even more aggressive if they are attacked. When migrating in search of warm climates, it may fly over 180 miles per day.
Behavior
Much like other small bird Pokémon like Pidgey, Spearow, and Starly, they congregate in big flocks looking for food to eat. Unlike the more docile Pidgey, they are very brave for such small Pokémon, and will even stand up to much larger Pokémon such as the considerably larger and more powerful Skarmory as revealed in the Emerald Pokédex entry. Despite this, they sometimes become lonely and cry at night. They tend to balk when they are hungry and they dislike cold climates, so they tend to migrate to look for food and warm weather.
Habitat
Taillow prefer to live in grassy fields or light wooded areas, but they can sometimes be found in anywhere from more heavily wooded areas, to urban environments, to mountainous or rocky areas. In short, they are very versatile.
Diet
- Main article: Pokémon food
As its Pokédex entry implies, it hunts for Wurmple. They may also have a taste for fruit and Berries. Additionally, Taillow appear to be agricultural pests, eating considerable amounts of crops in a flock as evidenced by the episode We're No Angels.
