Swellow (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

Swellow is based directly on swallows, specifically a {{wp|barn swallow}} or {{wp|welcome swallow}}. However, it shares characteristics with other types of birds as well. Its coloration, appearance, and crested head are similar to {{wp|treeswift}}s, though its head also resembles that of a {{wp|secretary bird}}. In terms of behavior, its predatory habits and incredible speed suggest inspiration from {{wp|falcon}}s, even more specifically the {{wp|swallow-tailed kite}}. Swellow's {{Shiny}} colors of green, red and white, combined with its two long tail feathers, also resemble a {{wp|Resplendent Quetzal}}, a breed of birds from Southern {{wp|Mexico}} and {{wp|Central America}} known for their beautiful colors—mostly green with red and white trims—and two long tail feathers.
