Sheer Cold (Japanese: ぜったいれいど Absolute Zero) is an Ice-type one-hit knockout move introduced in Generation III.

Effect

This move effect may be in need of research.
Reason: Does Sheer Cold still have variable accuracy in Gen VII (with 30% only being the base) or is it always 30% now? And does it still ignore other accuracy and evasion modifications? What is the accuracy of Sheer Cold if it is used by a non-Ice-type?
You can discuss this on the talk page.

Generations III to VI

If Sheer Cold hits, it will inflict damage equal to the opponent's current HP, therefore knocking out the target. It will fail if the target's level is higher than the user's level. The accuracy of Sheer Cold depends on the level of the user and the level of the target and is worked out with the formula: Accuracy = [(level of user-level of target) + 30]%. Sheer Cold ignores all changes to accuracy and evasion stats.

Generation VII

Ice-type Pokémon are now immune to Sheer Cold. Additionally, the move's accuracy is lowered if the user is not an Ice-type Pokémon.

Sheer Cold's accuracy is now shown as 30%.
