'''Samuel''' (Japanese: '''ソウタロウ''' ''Sōtarō''), also known as '''Sam''', is the assistant of [[Pyramid King Brandon]]. He also referees Brandon's matches.

Samuel first appeared in ''[[AG178|Battling the Enemy Within]]'' were he refereed the match of Brandon and {{Ash}}, who was then possessed by the [[King of Pokélantis]]. At one point the king used him as a human shield by forcing {{AP|Sceptile}} to hide behind him as Brandon's {{DL|Brandon's Regis|Regirock}} was preparing to fire a {{m|Hyper Beam}} at it, but Brandon was able to stop Regirock in time.

Samuel also appeared in ''[[AG186|Overjoyed!]]'', ''[[AG188|Pinch Healing]]'', ''[[AG189|Gathering the Gang of Four]]'', and ''[[AG190|Pace - The Final Frontier!]]''.

He also appeared in ''[[DP128|A Pyramiding Rage!]]'' where he was sent off with [[Maria]] to the [[Snowpoint Temple]]. In ''[[DP129|Pillars of Friendship!]]'', he was ordered by Brandon to repair one of the {{DL|Battle Frontier (Generation III)|Battle Pyramid}}'s broken motors.
