Louden is a character of the day who appeared in XY022. He is the director of the Ambrette Aquarium.
When Ash and his friends visited the Ambrette Aquarium, they were told a story by a man about a golden Magikarp. The man directed them to Louden, who was fishing on the beach, for more information. The group went to talk to him, and Louden happily greeted them and introduced his Clauncher to them. Louden then explained to them how he was fishing for the golden Magikarp so he could bring it to the aquarium and show it to children from all over the region.
Ash and his friends suggested to help, and so Louden gave them fishing rods. After fishing for a while, they suddenly got something on their hooks all at the same time. A giant golden Magikarp appeared out of the water, but as it turned out, it was merely Team Rocket's Magikarp submarine painted in gold color. Team Rocket then proceeded to steal the group's Pokémon. They got Dedenne, but Louden's Clauncher quickly went to the rescue and saved it. Louden then had Clauncher battle Team Rocket's Pokémon and defeated them, leaving Pikachu a chance to blast Team Rocket off.
With Team Rocket gone, Louden thanked the group for their help, and gave them the fishing rods they had rented from him. Just as Louden was about to call it a day, the real golden Magikarp appeared out of the water. Although it quickly dove away, this proved it really existed and inspired Louden to search even harder for it. After this he said his farewells to the group as they went their own way.

| Louden's Clauncher | ||
| Clauncher is Louden's only known Pokémon.
He originally caught it to entertain guests at the aquarium, but since it seemingly hated being watched by people, it lost its appetite and fell asleep quite often. Since Clauncher didn't do what Louden had wanted it to do, Louden decided to keep it for himself, since Clauncher did take a likening to him. As a result, Clauncher was at first still very unfriendly to the group, ignoring Pikachu and even attacking Dedenne when it wanted to become acknowledged with Clauncher. Later, when Team Rocket appeared and stole Dedenne, Clauncher saved it. It then went on to battle Team Rocket's Pokémon and easily defeated them. After this, Clauncher was a lot more friendly to Dedenne and the group. Clauncher's known moves are Water Gun, Crabhammer, Bubble Beam, and Vice Grip. | ||
