Release information

This card was released in the English Base Set, originating from the Japanese Expansion Pack. It was included in the Trainer Deck A, a deck given to prototype Pokémon Leagues before the TCG's official North American release. This print has a red border and "Trainer Deck A" printed on the back. It was later reprinted in the English Base Set 2 and Legendary Collection expansions.

Bite and Super Fang are both moves in the Pokémon games. Raticate can learn Super Fang, but could not learn Bite until Generation II, via breeding. The card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, whereas the Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green.
