The Queengar deck is one of the four Pokémon World Championships 2009 decks, built by Jason Martinez, the Junior Division Runner-up of the competition.
Overview
The Queengar set is a Psychic-type deck, primarily, while still using a limited number of Fighting-type Pokémon. The deck placed well at many large tournaments and was thought to be one of the only competitive evolution-based decks in a format filled with Pokémon SP. The deck's name is derived from the combination of Nidoqueen and Gengar, on which the deck's strategy is based. However, the archetype is more commonly known as Mother Gengar. None of the cards purchased from the World Championship decks are tournament legal, indicated by a special backing on the card, and signature on one of the deck's cards, (all cards in the deck from outside the pack itself are still tournament legal).
