The Passerby Analytics HQ (Japanese: すれ違い調査隊本部 Passing Interrogation Squad Headquarters) is a building located in Castelia City, on the corner of the street where Castelia Gym is. The building is small compared to the other larger skyscrapers around the city, and has only one floor upstairs. However, the building has a larger billboard attached to the roof promoting the headquarters and making it more noticeable. Inside the headquarters, a messy room contains several researchers who are working on surveys to ask to the public to get opinions and statistics.

Survey requests

Players may choose to take up the job of a statistician from here when they visit the building for the first time. Once accepted, the player's C-Gear would be updated with a function that allows the surveying of passing-by players. The head statistician will then request the player to conduct surveys of passing-by players from various questionnaires. The player has to change the questionnaire on the C-gear in order for the results to be recorded.

There are two kinds of surveys: head-count surveys and timed surveys. Head-count surveys require the player to survey a set amount of people (e.g. 20 people), while timed surveys require the player to survey for a set amount of time (e.g. 2 hours) and have at least one successful result.

Upon completing a request, the head statistician will reward the player with items as a 'form of compensation'. A player will also be given a rank based on the number of requests he or she has completed. As the player grows in ranking, the number of researchers in the room will increase.

Changing phrases

A youngster and a lady at the right side of the room will allow the player to change their greeting and thanking phrases respectively. The phrases can only contain up to 8 characters. The default phrases are "Hello!" and "Thanks!" respectively.

Player ranking and stats

At the back of the room is a large pie chart which will display the current player's statistician ranking, the number of times he or she was thanked before and the number of people who have passed by. This data less the ranking would be shown to other players when they use the Tag Log. The player's ranking is indicated by the number of orange dots.
